Stamp Time Somewhere

Why did Jeanna not stamp this weekend.....

Because I was either busy screaming my fool head off like a teenager, or recovering from the same said activity. Why was I screaming like a teenager? Because on Saturday  night I was sitting about 12 rows back at a Chris Daughtry (YUMMY) BON JOVI (still sooo yummy) concert!!!!!! It ROCKED!!!!

This is the second time I have seen Bon Jovi and he puts on a concert like no other. Standing room in the entire arena almost the entire time. He ends with a version of "Shout" that never fails to get everyone jumping. I have seen some amazing concerts - Tina Turner, Paul McCartney, Reba, Garth Brooks, the Judds....Chris LeDoux (God Bless) and Chris is the only one who came close to powering up the crowd and the energy that Bon Jovi does.

So - what concerts have you seen? What was your first concert? (The first one I remember was New Kids on the Block! hee hee) I'd love to know what your favorites are.

Oh - I was also working on a "little" project the last two days. I'll post a picture in a little bit!

Every once in a while

An angel enters your life. You don't always know it right away, but one day you find out. Chances are, when you find this out it may seem insignificant - especially to the angel or others around you. So - about my "angel" - One day on splitcoast I got a message to the effect of "hey- your boys look about the same age as mine" and a friendship was formed. At first it was fun comments to each other on our SCS cards, then a few PM's - then I started a blog and received lots of support. She started a blog and I try to always support her too. So - why now do I consider her a little bit of an angel? I think a few of you may have figured out from some of my posts that I've been having a hard time being a stay at home Mommy (my life's dream) to now two toddlers I guess (and wife to hubby) - doing OK, but struggling still (so not easy to admit)....well, she's been a good e-"ear", but yesterday in particular was another tough one, and to get a few moments break I walked to my mailbox and see an unexpected package. I come inside and find 2 little packages of Michael's $1 clear stamps and a block, and a little photo album along with a note - Saw these and thought of you. Thought you might like some happy mail, hope you had a good Mother's Day. OK, so I might be hormonal, but I cried. Seriously!

When you do something like that for someone, you might never know the true impact. It's like a single raindrop hitting a still pond - the ripple effect can be so far reaching. So I want to pay it forward. The only one not eligible is my angel (doesn't sound fair huh?). The first person to comment on this post with their correct guess at who this person is will in turn receive a small RAK (random act of kindness) from me. This may sound hard, but do a little reading on my blog and you're very likely to figure it out.

After I have a winner, I am going to post a link to her blog, then I am hoping that you can help me thank her for her simple, but loving gesture by commenting on her blog in some way - a comment on a card or project or even a hello...... So please check back. This should be fun.

To my secret angel. Thank you - from the bottom of my heart. I'm sure you didn't expect all this - but you definitely deserve it. More women need girlfriends like you. I have been blessed with so many good ones in my life, and I'm happy to have one more.

Bad Blogger......

Actually, I really do feel bad. I can't believe I haven't been updating more regularly. Honestly, I have been swamped. Trying to climb out from underneath a mountain of a to-do list. Ever have those? Anyhow, today I am sending my SIL with a stack of 40 something thank you and birthday and any occassion cards to drop off at a local car dealership for the troops. I also got a package of cards together to finally send to Shane . I need to get some RAK's out for blog candies I've won - these women probably think I sooo rude. Between that and outside jobs I've been asked to do (invites), the boys and life in general (not feeling well, throwing out my back, etc....) yeesh I'm tired!

I will try to get some new cards up soon. Thanks for bearing with me! I'll get there eventually......

Did ya miss me?

Did you even realize I was gone? Yikes it's been a while!

Well, I was able to complete most of my projects last week - although I am still working on stuff for my upcoming Super Saturday and some cards for hubby's coworkers. Here is a photo of a couple of the projects we're going to do. These all use the Au Chocolat designer paper from SU

We'll make the coaster box, beaded pen and giant clippie! I do have a few other things up my sleeve too.

So why was I gone so long you ask?

Well - I spent my Mother's Day in true Mom of Boys Glory! I found out that hearing, "Mommy - it's THOMAS! - HIIIIIII THOMASSSSSS!!!! - THOMAS!!! - MOMMY! THOMAS - LOVE YOU THOMAS!!!!" is just as good as any ol' breakfast in bed. Here's just two photos  - although I might share more later!

My Stamping Space

Being as I have been bogged down with projects, I thought that I'd post where all the magic happens (please don't sniker too loud!)

This is the South wall of my room and where I spend most of my time. Behind this table are two others that I use for classes.

On my table, just to the side of my ink caddy, I keep my markers and a jar for ribbon scraps, next to that is an old RC Cola crate that I found. It has had 101 uses since I found it, but right now it is perfect to store these cute little garden tins I found in the $spot at Target of course!. These house my essentials - adhesive, other pens/blender pens, misc. Next to that is a cute tin I had from Home Interiors and on it's side it hold background stamps! That lamp is soooo cute - I just got it from Home Interiors too and the bottom cube opens to a drawer that has all my brads and buttons and eyelets. To the right of that is 2 SU paper keepers with my neutrals and then a tin of 1/2 sheet and 1/4 sheet cardstock pieces for quick cards.

To the right of my table is a filing cabinet from my friend Jacki and the top drawer is full of SU cardstock, the bottom is full of card packets for classes. My Carl Cutter sits on top. The two plastic drawer towers to the right of that hold punches, and misc tools, extra sample projects and such.

To the left of my table is my bookshelf that holds all my stamps and wheels (yes all those stickers mean that I will be losing those sets)  Ribbon and a few other things sit there as well, with card front samples, extra adhesive and ribbons in the other boxes. 12x12 paper sits on the bottom shelf. Under the table I keep a basket full of alterable goodies items, a box for my feet and a magazine holder full of scraps in ziplocks by color families.

It's not too fancy, but it seems to work well for me for now!

Happy Birthday David!

My brother in law turns 17 today! Happy Birthday!

I gave him this card last night - along with what every teenager wants cash! I can't believe he's 17! He was 10 when we met. Anyhow, I LOVE how this card turned out - I seriously almost didn't want to give it away! I used Pearl Ex (various) over Black Craft Ink instead of Versamark and love how it turned out! You should see this in person - it looks sooooo much better than I could ever hope to capture on film - especially with the Interferance colors. Maybe kind of a new technique! I love this set and I am going to be so sad to see it go!

Finally a little Stampin'Mojo

Ok, so not only have I really not stamped this week - I haven't realllly wanted to *gasp* With everything going on and being sick two days - it just hasn't been there. However, I do have a workshop tomorrow with a new group of ladies and I still needed a project. I really wanted to showcase some retiring sets and a variety of different products. This uses both. It's a little gift bag made from a lunch sack and one sheet of cardstock. One thing I did different from what I've seen before is to attach a clear envelope to the front to showcase a coordinating card! That was easy to do, I just trimmed off the flap with my paper cutter and stuck it on using a little S.N.A.I.L. adhesive! The card only uses versamark and a little black ink for the sentiment. The technique used is called two step poppin pastels - FUN! The colors I used are Lovely Lilac, Sage Shadow and Ballet Blue.

This isn't surprising!
