From all of the excitement of last week, and the actual birthday yesterday....Feeling a little overwhelmed, so might be taking a day off or so.

These were sent to me by the amazingly talented and super sweet Rose Ann, along with some super yummy extra ribbons for my ribbon sampler pin. Ok, so now I HAVE to order the Real Red wide grosgrain ribbon, it is simply scrumptious!!! I feel very privileged in having formed a rather nice friendship with Rose Ann through our blogs and email, and she (along with a few other blog friends) have made me cry with their shows of friendship. I have many many other blogs that I read daily, although I have still not really formed "friendships" with most.....so I only chose three. I hope I haven't forgot someone, but if I did, let's just blame it on me being a complete ding-dong sometimes!
OK!!!! So the BIG SURPRISE - SHOCK AND AWE MOMENT came Saturday night, close to midnight, after the birthday party when I was totally spent, had 3 extra kids racked out on my couch downstairs and was just about ready to cry from exhaustion when almost divine energy smaked me in the face...enough already, should I just get to the point??
Ok, check out the comments left for me on this card. Appropriately, the invite for the big day I just survived. Do you see the first two (more reasons why they get a best blog friend award - they ALWAYS make me feel good about my work...) but then.......THUD!!!! Did you see who made the third comment?

Yikes - Wowserz! Holy cow! At that moment I could have cared less what my little counter read, what my "Stamping Top 50" rank was or anything! Beate Johns - the QUEEN of Stampin'Up! stampers and one of the most amazingly talented stampers EVER not only has been to my blog, but commented on my card. So that makes two of my idols - JanTink and Beate that have visited my little blog and commented onit too in one week! I still remember when SweetMissDaisy commented on one of my cards at SCS - about the same reation. I feel so BONAFIDE!!!
Now of course, everyone who visits and comments on my blog is iportant and appreciated - but to me these ladies are so talented that it's almost like a celebrity! I feel so silly....
I really should go stamp now....wish Mr. Brown would get here with my new stuffs!

OK, I am going to try to make this kind of quick as I am supposed to be icing cupcakes for little guy's birthday party this afternoon. After a torrendous week I got not 1, but 3 great surprises this morning!!!
1. 25,000+ visits to my little blog - WOW that's crazy! and fun, little ol me? All I can say is a big THANK YOU!!!! Being as I have the party this afternoon, I'll leave the posting for blog candy open until 10pm tonight, then I'll draw a name and post what that lucky gal is winning!
2. I was nominated as a "Best Blog Friend" I'll also post the specifics of that later. I feel so special! I swear Ido, especially because it's coming from one of the sweetest gals I've ever "met"
3.Ok, so I must have channeled HUGE amounts of vibes through my last "I love myself" post, and anyone that has ever read Stamps, Paper, Scissors knows where that sentiment came from. This morning I look at comments on my "Blog Penderings" and there is a comment from THE JanTink (may she live forever) - one of my very first stamping/blog idols..... ok, the secret is out. Here's where Jeanna almost falls over - runs into the bedroom where hubby is still sleeping - "Honey - you will never believe who commented on my blog" - Sorry Jan - he didn't.....THE JanTink you know, I've told you about her..... How funny are we?
Here is why I say torrendous week - then I REALLY have to go ice cupcakes
Sunday - Mom's in the hospital
Monday- Try to pull together a Plan B for the baseball game/birthday after confirming that the charity game is NOT happening. Call 20+ people to let them know change of plans....Embossing Class
Tuesday - Second Embossing Class......cut short after the birthday boy decided to play baseball with what was my wedding bouquet and my baby fell down the stairs (he's ok, but HUGE goose egg/ bruise on the forehead now)
Wed.- Mini class/personal stamping appointment
Thurs. -seriously was Thursday calm?
Friday - Frantically try to finish stuff for Today, older brother whacks baby under the eye with a gardening shovel full of potting soil. Eye full of dirt/Shiner and a cut....Oh yeah - What on earth does the weather man mean it could rain tomorrow afternoon?

Or at least this project anyhow!
My neighbor gave me these two clocks (presumably to put photos of the boys in - ooops) but I wanted to make something super cute and with only a 2" square to work with I had to get creative. Anyhow, I used my new fave designer paper - Cutie Pie (Whoodathunkit? ) My scallop punch and I just hand wrote the sentiments. I just love it, and it makes me so happy everytime I see it. I hope that it reminds me to strive for all of these things!
Just a reminder, I am only a "few" hits away from the big milesetone and I'll be drawing for blog candy from this post -

Ok, so being as I wasn't one of the first 30 people at convention second session, I didn't get one of the (I assume) thousands of cute ribbon sampler keychains. Dripping sarcasm....
Anyhow, I brainstormed with the 2 best roomies ever and we did a Ribbon originals share! Now, trying to figure out what to do with them after that has been a challenge. I found these jumbo Safety Pins with no coil in the beading section of Michael's and I am pleased enough with how it works. It will allow me to keep them all corraled in a somewhat cute way, and I can still change them out should any of the cards be retired. I organized them by collection. I think I may add some of my other to it too, like some dbl. stitched or taffetas....
Please don't forget to take a moment and comment on my blog candy post. I really appreciate everyones input and all the understanding. I think y'all realized I wasn't "slamming" the GREAT blogs that are so multi faceted, I just wanted to know if it affected you viewing and I LOVE the answers I'm getting. I will ALWAYS read my good blog-girl friends blogs - no matter what they post, so I hope it's the same the other way around! Thanks for all the compliments!

As I was noticing that I am about to hit another milestone on my site counter (subliminal message - BLOG CANDEEEEE.....), I was thinking a few things....
I am really trying to make an effort to make my life a little easier, and with two toddler boys, I have realized that it is no small task. One thing that I have decided is that from now on I would like to try to stick to strictly Stampin'Up! products in my projects that I post. How do you feel about that as a reader? Do you think that would make you more or less inclined to check my blog more often?
As a SU demo, it is definitely in my best interest. However, I know that there are a lot of "trendier" products out there. Are you as a blog reader searching for those super trendy products or are you a SU customer/demo that would rather spend your blog browsing time on perhaps a blog that could help inspire you to use your SU products more? I hope you understand what I am asking...... I find that I have deleted from my personal blog browsing list a lot of blogs that seem to feature primarily other stamp companies and more time on the ones that showcase fantastic SU samples. Have you even thought about this?
Anyhow, I'd really like to know your opinion so if you would, please post a comment and then when my counter passes 25,000 (Holy Whack-a-Moly that's crazy in itself!) I will post some blog candy, and everyone who leaves their opinion on this post will be entered. Thanks for your continued reading of my blog and your opinions!

I've been wanting to make one of these "tent topper" cards for a while and have no idea why it took me this long! Anyhow, I just love this set, and when we learned that we could ink a stamp in versamark and then use our markers to add multiple colors, I knew exactly what I wanted (hee hee) to do with this stamp! I used Sage Shadow, Really Rust and Close to Cocoa markers. I will advise however - That I believe that this technique would be fine if you are only making one card!!!! After my 2 samples and four or five class cards - my markers are shot! I think I can take the versamark off them with a baby wipe and maybe re-ink them to save them.....any suggestions? Anyhow, here's the card - we embossed the "Wanted" and used the fun foam technique for the medallion!

Last night I tought an Embossing Class showcasing some really fun and new ideas and techniques.
Here is one of the cards we made, probably my favorite. I used a little trick I learned at convention and that was to add a little gold embossing powder in with your irredescent ice to really make it sparkle. It is so beautiful and a photo just really doesn't do it justice. This card was designed with my Mom heavily on my mind. She is in the hospital and although it is isn't anything "major" - I still don't like being away from my Mom when she's in the hospital. She was supposed to have an Upper G.I. ran yesterday I think, and I am waiting to hear an update. She has been on pain medication for years now due to severe back problems, and they think that it's caused her some severe ulcers..... OK, back to the story - I remember that one of my Mom's favorite Color Combos is light blue and gold - apparently for a perfume called "Heaven Scent"? She even made me a dress with those colors....So when I was thinking Gold, I knew I wanted to pair it with a soft blue.....
The base of the card is Blue Bayou with the Shimmery White Panel matted on Soft Sky. I stamped the berries from Peaceful Wishes on the sides of the card in Whisper White craft ink, The Pine boughs in Soft Sky, adding depth by stamping multiple times before re-inking, Peaceful Wishes in Blue Bayou and then the Pine Cones were embossed with my special mix of powders over TopBoss (you could use Versamark). The little bow is Whisper White Taffeta.

I want to thank everyone for their opinions! I really do like a lot of stuff from other companies and admire plenty of artists who use their products, but it is great to know that it's really not the company as much as the projects/ideas that are done with them!
Sorry I didn't post earlier y'all - yesterday kicked my hiney!It didn't rain, we had a fabulous time - but boy was it interesting keeping all of those kids entertained in 106 degree weather for a 12 inning ball game! I'll post photos and a recap on a separate page later this week. So stay tuned!
Also - another HUGE blog moment occurred for me yesterday, but if I don't get downstairs and spend some time with my hubby now that the boys are asleep, I might get in trouble...hee hee - So lots of stuff tomorrow!
