Not much sleep this week, but I was blessed to be able to attend the birth of my new second cousin! My cousin is in Iraq and his wife just delivered their first son yesterday morning. Momma and Baby are doing great. The best miracle? Dad called on the phone right before the first push - he got to hear everything. It was amazing.
So it was a good first experience and so far, with the exception of that whole lack of sleep thing, I loved every moment. Walking with her to help with her labor, our "munchie" run to the convenience store, rubbing her legs and just generally supporting her with the grandest moment of all being the birth. I am still hoping that one day when the boys get a little older I can look into being a Doula, it's been on my mind for a while now, and after this - probably even more so. I had an amazing friend at the birth of my first son, and my great SIL at the second, and having that extra support from women who are just there to help you and reaffirm your power as a woman was so important.
As far as stamping. Yeesh! I had a stamp a stack Saturday, and we had a lot of fun. Here is one of the cards that I offered.
The idea was cased from an awesome cream/gold card I had seen on SCS. This card uses Bordering Blue, Whisper White, Silver Encore and Basic Gray in the Taffeta. Very monochromatic, I think very beautiful. There's Dazzling Diamonds on the tree from Lovely as a Tree.
