Stamp Time Somewhere

Super quick and easy card

Hope all the Moms had a great mother's Day yesterday. Mine was different....It started out with my 2 year old "breaking in" to my office and helping himself to my stash of giant candy bars for workshops...that was followed by a 1 1/2 hour screaming tantrum by my 3 year old because his "super hero" clothers were dirty and super heros can't wear all gray apparently.

I did receive a nice card from my hubby along with three books I had picked out from our church bookstore catalog and a big surprise of tickets to go see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian hotel and casino in June! We are sitting in the 6th row!

I didn'y have to cook - we went over to Dh's Dad's house for swimming and a BBQ. My boys are totally FEARLESS - both were jumping off the "plank". All in all it was a nice day.

Here is the card I made for my MIL (step). It took like 3 minutes but turned out beautifully. The base is kraft cardstock and the sentiment is from Stampin Up's All Holidays set and stamped in Purely Pomegranate. I used some of the wide Purely Pom satin ribbon, put a few pretties flowers together with a clear rhinestone brad - also from the "Pretties" kit, rounded the bottom corners and Voila! I think my inspiration must have come from Steph's cute card here

One of my old favorites

When I first started stamping, Poppin Pastels was one of my favorite techniques. I loved the soft look and the fact that I could get so many colors on my project without having all the ink and markers. I think this is a beautiful example.

Stamps: TOGETHER FOREVER STAMP SET	Paper: CARD STOCK WHISPER WHITE 8 1/2X11 CARD STOCK BASHFUL BLUE 8 1/2X11 CARD STOCK OLD OLIVE 12X12
Ink VERSAMARK PAD	Accessories: STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS STAMPIN PASTELS RIBBON GROSGRAIN OLD OLIVE 5/8 INCH BRADS RHINESTONE CIRCLES ICE RUB ONS LOVE BIRDS
Instructions 1. Stamp flower image in VersaMark ink twice on Old Olive card (3" x 6"). 2. Adhere Old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon around front of card. 3. Stamp flower image in VersaMark ink on Whisper White card stock (1-3/4″ x 2″), and daub pastels over ink while still wet using Poppin’ Pastels technique. 4. Remove rhinestone from rhinestone brad, and adhere to center of flower. Layer on Bashful Blue card stock (2″ x 2-1/4″) using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 5. Apply Rub-Ons image to card.

When I saw this project I totally loved the idea. Can you imagine how fun these would be for the kids after winning a league game, or to hand out to guests at a summer party? The possibilities are endless. Combine the ideas with Stampin'Up!s large number of stamp sets and accessories and you could spend a whole year making these and never make two the same!

Instructions 1. Scallop top edge of Pretty in Pink card stock (5″ x 1″) using 3/16″ Corner Rounder punch. Adhere behind Tempting Turquoise Prints Designer Series paper (5″ x 3-1/4″), and adhere to bottle. 2. Die Whisper White narrow grosgrain ribbon using Close to Cocoa ink, and let dry. Tie around bottle. 3. Punch circles from Close to Cocoa textured card stock using 3/4″ Circle and 1-3/8″ Circle punches. 4. Stamp celebrate image in Pretty in Pink ink on Whisper White card stock (2″ x 2″), and punch out using 1-1/4″ Circle punch. Layer on 1-3/8″ Close to Cocoa circle, and adhere 3/4″ Close to Cocoa circle over Whisper White circle. 5. Stamp heart image in Tempting Turquoise ink on Whisper White card stock scrap, and cut out. Adhere to center of small Close to Cocoa circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 6. Punch hole in top of circle image using 1/16″ Circle punch, and tie tag to bottle using crochet thread.

I feel Pretty -

oh so pretty.....ok maybe not. But anyhow, I do have pretties.....do I use them? Not so much. I think I really need to do a class with them to force me out of my comfort zone. Here's a great example that Stampin'Up! provided for us, showcasing the large flower.

Quick and Simple!

Here's a really quick yet fabulous card I found on the Stampin'Up! demonstrator website. I love all the products they used. Still, it's an easy card...that's perfect! They even put a rub-on on the button! Get out!

Not too good a day yesterday.....but I finally picked a winner for the blog candy!

I like a class that shows me how to make something other than a card or a class where I can learn a new technique.

Another one I like is just a simple scrap till you drop class.

Recovery update: I think I am feeling a little better,my Mom made my favorite homemade mac n cheese for dinner last night and I had 3 servings! Things feel a little different back there, so I hope that means it's healing. Very very tired today.....

Recovery update: today - not doing so bad. I was able to eat some baby food oatmeal and some really really thinned downed instant potatoes (like soup). Woke up last night at 2 or so and the pain was excrutiating. Felt like ripping my teeth out. Jaw hurt - get really bad headaches. Hopefully will feel better for a few days, then I know I will go through another round of bad pain as the scabbing comes off. Yuck!

I want to Thank you all so much for continuing to leave comments in my absence. The surgery went well, but I am still in a considerable amount of pain. I am so grateful to my Mom and Hubby right now!
