A few changes

So you are probably going to be seeing a few changes to the blog over the next few days. I am teaching myself how to do all of this. I created my header....what do you think? Now I am just in the process of getting it all laid out and set up the way that I want. It's challenging to say the least, and really I have like a million other things I'm supposed to be doing...so, please bear with me while I am "Under Construction"

Another Welcome Banner

I made this as a very special Thank You, for a very special gift. I used the Bella Rose paper to coordinate with her decor. I love Stampin' Up!s Pennant die, it's so quick and fun and easy to use. I also used the Scallop Circle die and Serif Alpha. I did add my little touch of black and white gingham ribbon!

 

 

I hope that everytime she sees it, it makes her happy and she thinks of me!

Emboss Resist

Sometimes you just can't resist it! Ha Ha! Anyhow, here is another quick tutorial from Stampin' Up! This time using the Emboss Resist Technique

It's great to be loved

I think that this is one of the most beautiful cards I've ever received. This was one of the many cards given to me by my friend Barbara Jean. The others were more for samples and ideas...this one was for ME

Birthday Wishes

This week was my Hubby's birthday. I had fun maing his card, but more fun bringing the boys into my stamp room ( a rare treat for them) so that they could make a card for Daddy.

So here is the one I made:

 

I used the Stampin' Up! set Happiness is a Journey (dormant), I colored it with Always Artichocke, Close to Cocoa and Night of Navy markers. I then added the Cracked Glass technique to add some interest. That layer is backed by a layer of Night of Navy. I did sand the Antique Brass eyelets a little to bring out more of a gold color.

Here is the one that my 4 year old little dude made for Dad. He is getting quite good in his stamping abilities, so with supervision I let him use the markers. The boys always ick out what stamp set and colors they want to use. I may help with suggestions, but they do all of the actual stamping themselves. He used Temting Turqoise and Gable Green with the Party Hearty set. Oh, I did the punching....

 

Here is the one that my 3 year old little dude made for Daddy. He used Tempting Turqouise, Green Galore and Only Orange. The set is Big Bold Birthday . I think he did pretty good...

My Create Board

Last year I made this really cute magnetic board at a craft night at church. I originally painted the frame black, thinking I would use it downstairs. Once home though, I realized that I really didn't have a great place for it downstairs. After it sat in my craft room for a while, inspiration hit....

I painted the frame white (like 5,000 coats to cover the black). I cut the letters from Stampin'Up!'s Chocolate Chip vinyl, using the Big Shot and the Serif Alphabet. A few retired Rub Ons and Voila! I made a few magnets using some Bashful Blue patterns paper and now I have a new board to post inspiration and samples.

 

Dry Embossing

This card is Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze. The cool part is that she embossed the roses on a piece of Vellum and then layered it on the card. It is so cool - you'll have to try it. Need the die? Need the vellum? Click here then click the SHOP NOW button!

 

Cute, huh? I love this one! She did the embossing on our Designer Series Paper, and because it's a printed pattern on a white core - she ran a sanding block lightly over the design to expose some of that inner white. How cool! The cute little stamp is from the new Matchbox Messages in the new Occassions Mini Catalog. If you spend $40 from the Occassions catalog, you can choose any stamp from the Under $10 page at the back of the catalog

Last but not least 

To get this stunning look, she just cut away part of the Real Red layer, expossing the simple stamping below! I love them all! - Which is your fave?
