I'm a rule breaker - MDS Blog Hop

Ok, so I guess I wasn't technically breaking the rules...just not really following them (can you tell I have tried to use that excuse before?) Mandy suggested that we show off some swatchbook projects this week for the Bloh Hop.... I have a confession. I haven't made a swatchbook, and honestly, just coming off of a vacation, I wasn't really in the mood to play with something that new.

 

However, I didn't want to leave anyone hanging, so while on the way home from vacation, while my hubby was driving, I plugged in my laptop and created this fun page using some pictures from just the day before. I LOVE being able to create on the go, all I need is a power outlet and my laptop and I am a happy girl!

 

So my darling middle son decided to snag the camera while we were shooting and took a few pics of his older brother. I have to say, that these might be some of my absolute favorite pictures from the whole vacation.

I used the great alphabet punch set Lauren's Letters ($9.95)  filled with the fun Pumkin Pie and Baja Breeze Papers from the new BBQ Blitz Ensemble ($12.95). Do you see the clever little subliminal message in the title. Comment and let me know if you do :) I also used the great little frames and lined label in the Fan Fair Collection Disk ($25.95 - you get SO much on this disk!). The Pumpkin Pie brads come with the software, and then I added the cute stitching in the Mis-Stitched download($3.95). It was a fairly quick page to put together, the longest time was spent aligning the letters!

MDS2 - What's in store?

 Being as I am a MDS junkie, I am super super excited about this! There are some amazing enhancements coming to MDS. I remember speaking to several of the "techies" last year at Convention and running thoughts past them.  I am really looking forward to this and will for sure let y'all know when it's available.

In a quiet state of shock...

I've never been brave enough before, I almost didn't go through with it this time, I almost gave up....

This time was different.

Thursday evening I received a call from Stampin' Up! letting me know I was one of the Top 20 finalists for the Artisan Award /Design Team.

I'm still in shock. I never considered myself to be nearly as talented as the ladies before me or with me this year.....

I will find out if I am in the Top 10 and "on the team" Thursday, July 19th.....

Celebration! MDS Blog Hop

This week we were challenged to create a project focusing on a Celebration! I chose to create a scrapbook page featuring my youngest son's 1st Birthday. I expecially loved being able to coordinate the page with all of the fun details I created for his party.

 I worked on this last week, and I must admit, I am a little emotional right now, because as of this morning, this sweet little face currently looks like this:

Here he is yesterday, before he took a face plant into a brick/rock fire pit... (thank goodness it was the side without the fire, or things could have been so much worse.)

 As you can see, he is in good spirits, despite the fact that I am still having a hard time :)

 Well, I hope that you like my page about my sweetie's first birthday, it really was a wonderful day! I am so looking forward to seeing what all the other designers came up with this week! With all that's been going on, I really am not sure who is participating this week... hopefully they will at least post the links for you!

Happy Father's Day - MDS Blog Hop

Well, with Father's Day on Sunday, I thought that this week would be a great week to focus on the Dads or other men in our lives, so that is what I challenged the Hoppers with this week. I know it's not a big stretch for me, being as I focus on my Hubs and 3 little men all the time :)

 

I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I saw the AMAZING embellishments in the Storytime Collection. I am seriously so in love with this disk it's not even funny. I think that anyone who a child ANYWHERE in their life NEEDS this disk... but then again, even though my boys are in the picture, this page is all about my husband...so I guess everyone could use it. I just love the charming retro inspired illustrations.

The journaling reads" Dad, Daddy, DaDa... You've heard those all before... leave it to Tanner to come up with something different. PUPPY" First you were Mummy, and that kind of morphed into Puppy. We tried to figure out if he was calling you Poppy, but in the end, figured out, no, it was definitely PUPPY. You were such a good sport about it too. You've taken a little kidding about it, but sometimes I think you might even like it. It's cute. We've all started calling you Puppy. Sometimes Tanner calls you Daddy now, and it almost makes me a little sad. Puppy was so cute. Let me tell you, you are for sure the cutest, best Puppy in the world and no matter what you are called, you love these boys and they love you more than anything. Love you Puppy!!!!"

What else can you do with MDS?

Holly challenged us to create a "hybrid" project for this week. A hybrid is where you add traditional papercrafting elements to a digital project. I told her yesterday that there was no way I could do it. I had too much going on....(seriously, I have WAY too much going on!) ANYHOW, so I was sitting down to tell y'all that I didn't have a project for you, but I started thinking. I really DO hybrid. I found a few photos from my SIL's baby shower that I threw a few months ago where I made a few things "hybrid" sort of, barely.... well, you take a look

I created the banner and letters, punched out the letters and added them to the banner. I strung the banner on some thick twine. Then I added the darling little pinwheels on the corners.

Cute little lollipops for favors... printed the little circles from MDS...I tied a bow on the stick....does that count ? LOL!

I have more photos from the party. Mosstly of FOOD and decorations... do you want to see them? Do you want to see what a wierd stickler for details that I am? Well, you comment and let me know if you want to see them. If not, just don't tell me k? Then I won't be sad. hee hee.

MDS Blog Hop Friday - It's NEW!!!!

 Don't you LOVE seeing new things? I know I do! What's even more, I love PLAYING with new things!!! As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, one of my favorite perks is being able to preorder things. When I saw this MDS disk available for Hostesses, I thought I'd give it a try. I must admit, at first it was a little challenging...then once I just "let go" a little and started playing.....it all came together. I love how well Stampin' Up! coordinates things!

One of the things that I really love about this kit is the trendy color combination! I love being able to use the masculine prints for my boys. We took this picture out in Boulder City by the LARGEST steam engine ever. Well, at least it seemed that way with my little boys next to it :)

Today is an exciting day - The brand new Stampin' Up! Catalog is available to order from!!! Yay!!!

I am so excited this week to see the fun projects that the other ladies have in store with new downloads and disks!
