Stampin' Up! Leadership Display Boards - Banner Blast - Oh, Baby

Hi there!!!!

 I must say that Banner Blast totally caught my eye when I opened my box of supplies to create these samples for Leadership. I think I squealed when I saw the coordinating punch too! (I am SOOOO happy that Stampin' Up! plans on keeping it around.

 I admit, "traditional" scrapbooking is not what I consider my strength....it gives me a little anxiety, honestly. Giving up actual photos and not being able to resize and easily fix mistakes....yipes! BUT I really love this page and I am so glad I made a duplicate!!

 

 

TIPS -* To make the large string of banners, I first lightly sketched a line in pencil, then glued the individual banners, then I went WAY outside of my comfort zone and SEWED on my page.

* I cut the title using an MDS download and my Silhouette

MDS Blog Hop - What I'm working on - February - Super Hero Punch Art

Hi - Welcome back!

Hey Hey Hey! It's MDS Blog Hop Time! I truly love doing this hop, because although I love creating in so many different mediums, I think I have to say that My Digital Studio is my FAVE!!! I guess that might be why I am so excited that so many of you join us for these hops!

I am so lucky to be following my fabulous friend - with the most amazing smile - the talented, Holly Van Dyne. If you haven't seen her project yet, go check it out or make sure you hop all the way around.

One of my favorite things to do is to throw birthday parties for my boys! I LOVE going all out and finding fun ways to create special memories. This year I am combining two boys in to one party - being as their birthdays are 2 weeks apart  - this is proving to be a HUGE money and time saver!

Color Combo - LOTS! Real Red, Crushed Curry, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Gray

Guess what - it's ALL DIGITAL PUNCH ART!!!!! I KNOW - OMG it was SO fun! I created each character in a 12x12 page to make the details, then added them in here individually. I'll share the rest of what I did next week!!!

Well, as if I wasn't lucky enough to follow one great friend, I get to go before one of the best-bestest-bestiest BFFs EVER - my outrageously talented and sweet friend Julie Davidse!!! Go check her out and tell her I said "Hi!" :)

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Quite the Pair and some Geometrical

 

 HI!!!!!

  How are you doing? Are you missing me yet? I am sooooo sorry, but my blogging this week might be a little sporadic - I have a BIRTHDAY PARTY to get ready for on Saturday! I am TRYING to stay caught up but - well.....

  ANYHOW - I have TWO projects for you this week! YUPPERS - TWO.... the first one is the Valentine card I made for my hubbers and the second one well - was just FUN! Want to check them out?

For the Valentine I just used some Brushed Gold Cardstock and embossed the little pear from Quite the Pair in Gold Embossing Powder. I chose to cut the pear apart from the words to accomplish this. I did not use a Stamp-a-ma-jig, I kind of just eyeballed it. It is rather stunning in person and looks a lot like a card you would find in a fancy boutique somewhere.

Now for the "fun" extra

 

I found these cute little pillow boxes in a dollar section at a store and loved the silver polka dots, so I grabbed them - knowing I would do SOMETHING with them. (you NEVER do that, do ya? LOL). I made a simple little belly band and tag for it using the Geometrical stamp set and Kaeidescope Designer Series Paper and I think they would be a FUN way to give a little treat or for a favor at a party.... What do you think?

 

TIPS: I am still loving the GOLD trend and Gold on Gold is even BETTER. Try embossing on gold cardstock with gold embossing powder yourself - it makes a stunning impact

* I added an extra layer of Brushed Gold cardstock and a Very Vanilla layer to the inside of the card to really make it have that super special touch

*The new tag punches are a great way to create fun and quick tags. Take a look around for your scraps and you have an instant recipe for success.

Stampin' Up! Leadership Display Boards - Geometrical Scrapbook Page - Jeanna Bohanon, Las Vegas, NV Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Hi there!!!!

 So sometimes a project just comes together...sometimes it doesn't. Yeah - this was a doesn't. I really struggled with this page. I knew I wanted to pull some of the colors from the photos, but there wasn't a lot to work with. I didn't want it to look to child-primary-ish (lol). I wanted a pattern, but a very tone on tone one.... In the end I was ok with it...

TIPS -* I really wanted a lot of dimension in this page, so I took a cue from my very talented friend Jane Lee and used cardboard inbetween my layers.

My Paper Pumpkin - A totally awesome Bridal Shower Gift!

I completely forgot to post this! Last month I went to my friend Valarie's Bridal Shower and Bachelorette party. I had NO idea on what to get her. NONE. Just so happened that I wanted to create some of my My Paper Pumpkin kits that day. When I saw my December kit there, I was so inspired be all of the fun, bright colors - they reminded me so much of Val!!! She is the funnest, sweetest, craziest, loveliest person.... I KNEW I could make this kit even more awesome for her.... check it out....

 

 

Can you see why I was so super excited to give it to her? I totally FELL IN LOVE with it. Honestly, it was a little hard to hand over..... LOL! I think I just might have to kind of recreate it with my on-hand supplies!

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Love you to the Moon Pie and Back

 

Do you love it when an idea just comes to you? When you see a stamp and you instantly know what you want to make? That’s what it was like for me when I saw the Love You to the Moon Stamp Set. I LOVE being able to give a gift that makes someone smile, and I think that is what will happen when that special person I love opens this card and gift box. Especially when they find that little piece of classic Americana hidden inside!

For the box I stuck with the basics: the stamp set, some markers, some ribbons, and a little embossing. Thanks to the Circle Collection Framelits and the Decorative Dots embossing folder, making the moon was pretty easy. For the card I wanted to showcase some “higher than the sky” thinking by combining stamping and digital. I think the end result is truly out of this world!

 

 

TIPS: I used the Circle Framelits to start my box for the Moon Pie. Then I just added a strip of cardstock long enough to wrap around and tall enought to fit the Moon Pie.

* The "underside" of the Decorative Dots folder made a fun little crater texture for the moon.

*To create the rocket, I imported the Love You to the Moon and Back digital download into my e-cutter program. SO CUTE!

An 8 Minute Wedding card! Best of Brides and Babies

SERIOUSLY!

 Have you ever realized at the very last moment that you don't have a card that you NEED?!?! I really thought I had a wedding card in my stash that would be perfect for my beautiful friend this past Saturday.... I DIDN'T!!! Did I panic? No!!! (Ok, well, maybe a little bit) . I grabbed one of my fave Best of 25 Years stamp sets - Best of Brides and Babies and some cardstock, some Embossing supplies and set to work! Less than 10 minutes later, I was signing this baby!

A elegant card for this beautiful bride!

Stampin' Up! Leadership Display Boards - Geometrical Nail File Holder - Jeanna Bohanon, Las Vegas, NV Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Hi there!!!!

 Am I the only one that shops with Stampin' Up! coordination in mind? When I saw these fabulous nail files in the dollar section, the bold colors reminded me of my lovely Stampin' Up! colors back at home....plus - look at that glimmery one - isn't it delish?

 I thought that they might make a fun little gift or party favor, so I fashioned a little box that would be perfect for just such an occasion!

 

 

TIPS -* UGH! I thought I had a pattern for this. I laid the 3 boards on my grid paper and traced around them to get my dimensions. You could also do a wrap or "belly band" with the same idea

Monstermaniac Valentines for 3 little guys

This is such a special day for me - you see, it's not just Valentine's Day - but 8 years ago I welcomed the sweetest blue-eyed boy into the world....he truly embodies everything good about today and has the biggest heart!

The challenge can sometimes be finding the right balance of Valentine and Birthday....I think if he were a little girl it might be a tad easier, because I could get away with more hearts and pink stuff.... but, 3 boys I was blessed with, so 3 boys it is. No frilly Valentine's around here....

Ok, so there are wayyyy too many colors used to make a color combo on this, but the card bases are all Basic Gray, Real Red and Smokey Slate. I stamped the little monsters from Monstermaniacs in Staz-On on Watercolor paper and then colored them in with various markers. I am SOOOO looking forward to having Blendabilities!

Ok, now I am off to go celebrate this handsome man's birthday!

MDS Blog Hop - LOVE to use My Digital Studio

This first page is pretty simple, but it 1. Shows me and my LOVE 2. Is a good example of why I LOVE MDS - you can do things digitally you can't do traditionally. I LOVE this technique (if you want to call it that) of being able to stamp on my photos.

Did you see the card that I created yesterday for the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop? Well - I guess it's pretty obvious that it TOTALLY inspired this page. I am thinking that I might go ahead and order a print of this one soon and totally work it up hybrid style!

 

Mailbox Love Notes is an AWESOME download - I LOVE it!!! LOL!!! Yes - I know, lots of LOVE today. There are templates and stamps and embellishments galore - all ones you'll surely LOVE ( I couldn't resist)
