I told you I had something super fun for you today! I was so tickled as this was coming together. I don't have a lot of spring and Easter decor, and I am kind of weird that I like my seasonal things to make some impact, but NOT take up a lot of room. I think that is one reason that I love making holiday banners....
Now, this might not LOOK like a My Digital Studio project or even a Stampin' Up! project at first glance, but once I show you the details, you'll see that with just a little "outside the box" thinking, you can create some FABULOUS things with cardstock.
So, do you want to know how I did it?
First I opened my punches in MDS. From there I chose an existing triangle/banner shape. At the bottom left is a button that you can click to edit the shape of the punch. I played around and made that banner shape into a carrot!!!!! FUN!!! Then I imported into my e-cutter software the carrot, some Lauren's Letters, my oval and circle punches and the shape for the top of the carrot. Can you guess what that is?
did you guess?
now do you see it?
YES! It's the little triple arrow shape punch from the On Film Kit Download!!!! Don't ask me HOW I saw a carrot top in that little shape, but I am sure glad I did! I LOVE these carrots!
I cut each image 4 times to make it a sturdy and thick, almost wood like thickness. I used my Arrows, Perfect Polka Dots, and Scallops Textured Embossing Folders to get the great textures on the top layer only. Sponging on top of that really brings out some great dimension. I layered all the cut pieces together with a glue stick, those really seem to help give this a little more stiffness and strength. I thought it would be cute if the bunny had a little snack from the last carrot, so I bit it with a scallop circle punch.
I hope you think this project is as cute as I do and that it inspires you to create some fun and unique home decor pieces of your own!
Hope you have a great day!!!
