Going Big This Father’s Day

My husband always goes all-out when planning holidays for me. He always has. But sometimes life gets so crazy for me that it’s the last minute and I still haven’t made the things that I want to make. Not this year! This year I started early! I think he’s going to LOVE it.

To create this HUGE ensemble for him, I pulled out all of the stops. I used LOTS of cardstock, a great go-to stamp set (Gorgeous Grunge), a fun color scheme, the Big Shot and dies, MDS (US/CA), and my e-cutter! It took a while to get it all done, but I think the results were nothing less than pure awesomeness!

I really put effort into adding tons of details, so let me share each project with you—along with some of those little touches.
I made the necktie banner using one of the ties from the Father’s Day Stamp Brush Set. Using my e-cutter, I cut each tie four times and glued them together using a Stampin’ Glue Stick, creating my own kind of chipboard. I did the same with the Lauren’s Letters, Alphabet & Numbers Punch Digital Download. I decided a few of the ties needed some personality, so I cut some strips and punched some polka-dots from my scraps. Dad has to have some style, right?

Next came the centerpiece. I found a metal drink bucket, put some filler on the bottom, lined it with some brown packing paper, then filled it with one of my hubby’s favorites—peanut M&Ms. Then, using some smaller versions of the neckties and some fun sayings from the Rad Dad Stamp Brush Set and the Because I’m the Dad Greeting Card Template, I created the stakes—because, well, I couldn’t do flowers! I jazzed up the sentiments using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and backed them on coordinating Starburst Framelits Dies.

A little 4-pack of “POP” HAD to be made to wash down all the upcoming yumminess. On the back of the ties I’ll have each of the boys write: “You are the BEST POP around, Dad!”

This is where Dad is really going to get spoiled rotten! I found a bunch of his favorite treats, then tried to figure out cute sayings to help “tie” them in (oh, I crack myself up!) to the gift.
