Hi there!!!
Welcome back to another week of TGIF Challenges! This is our "Choose Your Fave" week, where we look back over the month at the other design team cards and challengers cards to find our inspiration.
There was SO MUCH inspiration this month!!!! HOLY COW!!! Y'all were amazing. It was so nice to see so many entries!
Mine was a little bit of a mash-up. Inspired by some of the sketch challenge entries, and the Cut the Cake entries...
It worked out perfectly, as I had to create a card for a friend of my son's. I based the color scheme off of his favorite football team. The reason it's so simple, is because, well.... boy. A few things to make this card special:
*LAYERS - I added a LOT of layers, both in the larger pieces, and in the main image. The main image is stamped once on the white layer, then there is a Smoky Slate layer for the shadow piece under the "Birthday", the layer for the "Birthday", and then the Cucumber Crush arrow. So at it's thickest, the card actually has 6 layers!!!
* To give the main image some extra depth, I used a blender pen and Smoky Slate ink to create a shadow.
* "Lights" To create the little lights on the marquee, I used my stylus from the Simply Scored board and the White Craft Ink Pad. Take a peek at my Instagram to see it in action.
Today's color combo:
Need a few supplies? Here's what I used for this card.
