Hi there!
Hope you're keeping cool out there - where ever you are. Here in Vegas, it's like an oven, as expected. My boys are all out for summer break now, so things can be pretty loud around here. Why do little boys like to make more noise when Mom has a headache?
What do you think of when I mention "Shabby Chic". Once upon a time I was in love with the look, then over it for a while, but I think my heart is embracing it once again. I love a casual, almost farmhouse style for my personal space, so Shabby Chic tends to sneak in.
I started a Shabby Chic Pinterest Board for my own inspiration, and thought I'd share it with y'all! For my project today, I thought I'd blend my love of the two styles, with going a bit more rustic-farmhouse-country with the color combo and adding in the fun elements of doilies, pearls and flowers of the more traditional Shabby Chic.
I thought this sweet little set would be perfect for a birthday gift! I love making a card and then coordinating the packaging. Funny store, one time when I did it, my receiver said, "OMG, it's coordinating - really, who does that?!?!" (it was in a fun way, not a bad way) Quite a few of my other friends said in unison, "JEANNA"
I chose to create a base with Crumb Cake cardstock and add a layer of the Designer Series Paper. Some serious sponging with Chocolate Chip ink started happening then, to give it a more aged look. I created my own "Designer Series Paper" for the accent strip, stamping the little flower from the Jars of Love set with Pool Party, adding a little water-colored Rose Red center, then some more sponging. Touches like Basic Pearls, Linen Thread and our lovely new doilies add to that Shabby Chic feel.
Went with pretty much the same look for the bag. Thank goodness for the Gift Bag punch board!
Take a peek at some of the AWESOME Shabby Chic projects the rest of the team! Next up is Kelly!!!
