Hi!!! Happy FRIDAY!!! Hope y'all had a great week! Holy SMOKES! We had a crazy desert storm come through Vegas yesterday, complete with hail. That's not too common. It dropped the temp by almost 30 degrees in just minutes!
So, this week I am combining my posts for TGIF Challenges, and for the We Create Blog Hop. Normally, I would have two posts, but, well....it's been one of those weeks!!!
Now, I have to tell you that I LOVE the way this project turned out! I even had my hubby's help on part of it! Ready?
So, my main project is this GORGEOUS (if I may compliment it myself) banner!!! I don't really send out 4th of July cards, so I thought about making one for a military member, but then I thought to myself, "hey, I could use some new patriotic decor!"
Hubby to the rescue. I had him pull apart one of my palettes (I might be hoarding a few on the side of my house)and build me this rectangle for the flag. I then did LOTS of measuring, and dry brushed on some paint that I can't believe were almost exact matches for Dapper Denim and Cherry Cobbler. Ta-Dah!!!
Now, you know I love the little details. I embossed the Crumb Cake banners with the Lucky Stars Embossing folder, then sponged Crumb Cake ink over them to make them pop. Instead of stamping the Letters for You directly on the Layering Circles, I chose to die-cut them so that I could add some Gold Thread behind them. I like how it picks up in the gold from our ADORABLE Gold Binder Clips!!! <3 them!!!
So, I started thinking that I might like to use the base (string and clips) for other occasions. There are OPTIONS!
Here are a few 7 letter words I came up with:
Blessed
Monster (for Halloween)
You could do a 6 letter word and add an accent banner at the beginning or end of the word:
Easter (an egg,chick or cross)
My Love (with a heart in the middle)
Create ( with just about ANYTHING cute!)
Summer
You could also do 5 letter words and have a plain banner on either end:
Faith
Which words would you put on your banner?
If you want to create your own banner like mine, here are the supplies I used.

The banner is awesome and I'd say this it is definitely stepped up when you see it on that wooden flag. I love those gold binder clips and I'm happy to say I just bought some last night.

Wow this is an amazing and patriotic project. I love that hubby came to the rescue with the pallets, and I love that you've thought outside of the box as to other projects that can be displayed. Really awesome! Happy 4th of July!
