Hey there!!!!
Welcome back! I just got back from 2 amazing vacations! I know, I know. One long one, and one short one. Both were great, but so different. This last one included an Angels game, and the beach!!! It was awesome.
Before we left, I got to spend some time creating with this great inspiration photo -
Isn't it GORGEOUS? I mean, you could find inspiration for DAYS!!!
Here are a few points I pulled from it
*Color Combos - Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Dapper Denim, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Copper
*Jars, Cloche, Lights and Glimmer
*Distressed wood, Shabby Chic, Marquee, Repurposed/Upcycling
*Flowers, Peonies, roses, Succulents, Garlands
*Soft and monochromatic or bold contrast
*Wedding, Anniversary, love
SEE? So much to inspire me and YOU!!! Here is what I chose to do with my inspiration....
I wanted to focus on the softness of the flowers and greenery, while adding the boldness of the Dapper Denim and Rich Razzleberry accents.
For the card I created a soft water color wash of Blush Blossom ink on Watercolor paper. I added some greenery from the most unexpected set - No Bones About It!!! I inked them in Pear Pizzazz and then spritzed the stamp with water to create the soft look. The ribbon is the Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon, and the Large Letters are cut from the Decadent Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and added to the front of the card with Foam Adhesive Strips.
But this jar!!!! This is where I started. I love this small sized canning jar I picked up somewhere, it was just perfect filled with dark chocolate kisses to continue the "Love" theme. I had an issue with the silver lid and ring though. What was a girl to do? I simply heated up the ring with my heat tool, and dunked it in our gorgeous Copper Embossing Powder, reheated (and repeated) until I had a gorgeous Copper top for my jar!!! ***PLEASE be careful if you try this, the metal gets VERY hot. I used a pair of reverse lock tweezers to hold mine as I worked.)
The flower was created by punching out a lot of petals from Whisper White card stock using the Blossom Builder punch. I wanted a very soft color, like the flowers in the photo, so I sponged a little Blush Blossom ink on to each petal. I LOVE the end result! What do you think?
Now I just need to find the perfect person for this card and gift!!!
I hope you enjoy browsing through our blogs today and seeing how each of us interpreted the inspiration photo. If you have a moment, we would love to hear what you think.
