Hi there!!!
Happy Friday!!!!
Holy Moley, I can not believe it's SEPTEMBER already!!! This year...it's flown by so quickly. I LOVE September, it makes me think of fall, and all of the deliciousness that it brings with it. It often doesn't really start to cool down too much here in Vegas (I mean it was still 106 yesterday), but it does a tiny bit.
Today we have one of the prettiest color combos I think I've worked with in a while - check it out!
To me it screamed a pretty birthday card. I had a sweet 17 year old in mind, and I LOVE how her card turned out!
The best part was that she loved it too!!!
I had fun adding sweet little details to the cake.
I REALLLY tried to stick to using just one stamp set, but gosh darn it, the banner in the Number of Years set is just. so. versatile!
A few tips on creating this card:
*I stamped all the cake pieces individually before cutting them out and stacking them. This let me play around with exactly the number of layers I would need
*I stamped and embossed the cake plate first, added all of the layers except the top one, then used the top one as a guide to stamp and emboss the flag sticks
*Stamp the flags three times in each of the colors and cut out to add to the top of the cake
*When in doubt, Silver Glimmer always adds the perfect amount of dazzle!
*HAVE FUN! An off-centered bow from the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon adds a fun touch of playfulness and whimsy!
I appreciate so much that you visit my blog. I hope that I inspire you. I also would love to extend my services as your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator if you currently do not have one. If you are looking for a place to start when ordering, here is a list of the supplies that I used for this card.
