Hi, Welcome Back!!!!
It's that time again. Time to Step It Up with the We Create Blog Hop. Gosh darn it, I am writing an OCTOBER post and it is going to be 92 degrees here! I want some sweater weather!!! I want to stomp my boots. Well, if it were cool enough to be wearing them.
I decided to have some Halloween fun today. I do not usually make Halloween cards, but I saw these two great projects in the Holiday mini and thought, "hey, I could COMBINE those!!!"
I might have squealed a little :)
Here is my "simple" version
I know not everyone thinks that water coloring is simple, but it really is not that hard. I just use our Aqua Painters and my ink pads. I should probably do some videos....
Anyhow, then I decided to "step it up"
EEEP!!! I love it, and I know just who it is going to :) To step it up, I added the watercolor wash on the background of the main image, tied some of the awesome Halloween Night Baker's twine. Do you love the little dangly spiders? I thought they were a fun touch. I also added some washi tape, and a surprise element. I embossed the spooky eyes on the black card base with clear embossing powder, it adds just the right touch!
I hope you like seeing both versions. I have an idea. Leave me a comment telling me how much you love my cards (shameless begging for validation) and which projects (pages) from the Stampin' Up! Holiday mini catalog I used for my inspiration/mash-up, and I will pick a winner and send them the "simple" version. (Remember, I have someone in mind for the stepped up one.)
Head on over to Lynn's blog next, and make sure to visit all of us. (We're a small hop - it doesn't take too long)
I just want to let you know that I appreciate your visits to my blog and I would love to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator if you currently don't have one. If you would like to place an order with me this month and use this Hostess Code MDBS6ZTV, I will be sending you a VERY special thank you card and gift!!!
If you are looking for a place to start, you can click on any of the images below of the items I used in this project.

I love the little strip of washi tape and the Halloween jars. The evil eyes in the background provide a nice effect.
