Paper Craft Crew Challenge #221 Red, Green, and Crumb Cake

Are you ready for this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge?

This week is my first challenge with the team that isn't a sketch, but a color challenge. I love that it's pretty open and lends itself to a world of creativity!

  See - you can choose any Red or Green! I chose to go with the colors from the Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack as my inspiration.

 These papers are wonderful - and so versatile!

 I love the stitched look of the designs. They make great backgrounds. I embossed the sentiment from the Hostess Set Time of Year, and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits, and the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelits.

 Do you see that fun Red on the "Christmas" banner? It's the Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder. I think it looks AMAZING on the Basic Black Card stock.

#TGIFC83 Inspired by the one and only Cathy Caines

 Welcome Back!!!! Hope you're excited to see this week's TGIF Challenge! I am super excited about it, because this week is a featured artist, and it's one who I love and admire greatly. The fabulous, Mrs. Cathy Caines!!! 

 Cathy and I were on the 2013 Artisan Design Team together and it was easy to love her. She is funny, thoughtful, sweet, kind, honest as can be, and totally knows who she is! She is a loving mom and probably the most amazing scrapbooker, memory keeper, and story teller I have ever met.

 I found this card of hers and decided that I thought it would be a great one to use as inspiration.

although she creates some big shoes to fill... I think I did ok :)

 I actually LOVE how mine turned out. Maybe I need to be inspired by Cathy m ore often!!! For my background, I chose to do a water-color wash with Delightful Dijon ink, and for my Designer Series Paper choice I went with the Serene Scenery Designer Pack. For an extra touch, I added a Vellum flower cut from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. The word "hope" also came from that set. 

 All in all, I'm just hoping I made my friend proud.

Paper Craft Crew #220 Sketch - Stampin' Up! Time of Year

Ok, I am THRILLED that this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge was another sketch challenge! You know why? I seriously struggle breaking out of my "tried and true" layouts to try new things. Even though I had the hardest time deciding what to use and how to execute the sketch, I kinda like how it turned out!

 Here is the sketch - 

 

 Ultimately, I ended up turning the sketch and moving things around a little, but that's the beauty of a sketch, you can use it as a base, a starting place, and then let your imagination and creativity go!

 

 I used the fun Hostess Set, Time of Year and the Foxy Friends Designer Series Paper Stack to tie this all together. I love the color combo in this paper! I might also be hooked on using my White Emboss Powder!

#TGIFC82 Crisp Fall Inspiration

Welcome Back!!!! Hope you're excited to see this week's TGIF Challenge!

 I really love fall and wish I lived somewhere that had a magnificent season. I LOVED when I lived in Georgia and could drive up to the North Georgia mountains and take in all the beauty that God creates in the Fall.

 Surprisingly, when I went to stamp for this week's challenge I had ONE stamp set with an image I could use for fall!!!! I am shocked! It's funny because when I first started stamping, I think ALL my sets were "leaf" sets. So I decided to go with something that could be EXTREMELY versatile!

 

 The front of the card uses one of the Old Olive patterned papers from Serene Scenery. I love this little stack. One side of the papers are a regular style pattern, the other side is a photo! My favorite part of the card is the sentiment! I say "amazing" all the time. This stamp is part of a new set call "All Things Thanks" that will be available in January in the new Occasions catalog!!! I used an old standby for my leaves...Lovely as a Tree.

 I also want to point out the sentiment's circle! It's from the new Stitched Shapes Framelits that are available for a limited time, until next year's annual catalog! So you need to get them now!

Fancy Friday - Holiday Inspiration

 

Hey there!!!! 

   Welcome back!!! It's FINALLY FRIDAY!!! The temps are finally dropping here in Las Vegas. It's beginning to feel like fall. It made it a little easier to create this month's Fancy Friday card when I saw our inspiration photo.

 Pine, distressed wood, fire, flannel, plaid, burlap, Santa, chalkboard and so much more. There really was so much inspiration in this it was hard to decide which direction to go! Ultimately, I chose the color combo or Real Red and Whisper White with just a touch of Garden Green, plaid from the pillow and the word art on the other pillow.

 This was a really quick and simple card to pull together. I love making plaid by stamping Brushstrokes in the two directions - quick and easy! Then I just stamped the sentiment, cut it out with the new Stitched Shapes dies (they are AWESOME, I am HOOKED - and look how nicely it layers with the Layering Squares dies!

 I am excited to see what Sue has for you this month. You know her stuff is always amazing!

#TGIFC81 Sketch Challenge with Stampin' Up!'s Wrapped in Warmth and Premium Tutorial Pack!

 

   Hey, y'all!!! Happy Friday!!! Hope you've had a great week. Are you ready for some great sketch inspiration from the #TGIFChallenges crew?

 I started with the sketch and just slightly built on top of it. I LOVE our Designer Series Papers. I love how they all coordinate, I get especially happy when I can use both sides of one paper like I did this time! The Warmth and Cheer stack has some amazing patterns!

 Here is a close up of some of the details for you. I kept it pretty simple this week.

 I wrapped a little Linen Thread around the tree die-cut. Do you love the little star on top? I cut that from a scrap piece of another pattern in the Warmth & Cheer Paper stack.

One Stamp At A Time - Let it Snow Blog Hop

Hi there!

 Welcome back to the One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop! This month's theme is HARD for me to work on right now, it's 82 degrees in Las Vegas. In NOVEMBER!!! For goodness sakes!!! That being said it was nice to pretend for a while.

 I thought I'd have a little fun and play with a kind of non-traditional color combo. I kind of really like it!

 Isn't this a fun little combo? Just a simple way to drop off a little gift. I LOVE our curvy boxes for things like this. What do you think about the color combo. I know it's not totally non traditional, but a  little different from my norm. Speaking of color combo, what do you think of that WHITE snowman on the CRUMB CAKE? Curious as to how I did it? Well, what if I told you that there are some FABULOUS new water-color pencils coming soon? I know, it's a tiny sneak peek, but it is a sneak peek!!!

 I wanted to make sure that this card SPARKLED, so a total wash with the Wink of Stella Brush had to happen. I also had to make him sparkle, so a shiny hat and a sparkly bow tie and this guy is ready to party!

 Happy Curvy Keepsake Box!!! I pretty much just duplicated the same elements, adding a few things in reverse to help them compliment each other.

 I am really excited to see what everyone else has created with this theme. #TGIFC80 Color Combo Challenge - Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon, Rich Razzleberry

Welcome Back!!!! I am SO excited! Not only do I have a cute project today (and I LOVE the color challenge), tomorrow I get to see the upcoming Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog!!! I LOVE being able to see the latest and greatest from Stampin' Up! so much it's seriously one of the main reasons I signed up to be a Demonstrator. (If you want the same opportunity, check this out)

 Ok, so on to this week's awesome color challenge!

  I went with a really simple, yet stunning layout that I found on the Freshly Made Sketches blog to highlight the adorable little scarecrow from Halloween Cookie Cutter set.

 What do you think? Do you like the simple layout? I was a little worried about coloring this little guy with only 3 main colors, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE him!!! These cookie cutter sets are seriously AWESOME. I am REALLY hoping to see a spring version... like maybe with a Leprechaun??? :)

 To make the splatter, I just loaded up some reinker on the brush of the Aquapainters and just tapped on the end, holding it above the card stock so that it would splatter.
