Welcome to this month's We Create Blog Hop - Step It Up! Every month we get together as a small group to share some fun ideas creating a "simple" project, and a "stepped-up" project. I love this theme and sharing with you every month.
This month, I wanted to do something a little different. I decided to go a non-card route and make some sweet little "WINNING" notebooks. I love these! I keep one in my purse, or on my counter and every day I list three "WINS". Some days there are legit "wins" like getting 4 projects done that I needed to, other days my "wins" are more like keeping my family alive.... ever have those days???
Wouldn't you love to write down your "wins" in a cheery little notebook like one of these?
Here is a simple version. We created these at my last class. They started as basic Mini Composition Notebooks. A small strip of the GORGEOUS Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper, layered over a piece of So Saffron card stock that was embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder makes an easy background. Then just add a bow with the Pool Party Ribbon, stamp the sentiment in Bermuda Bay, cut it and a mat with Layering Circles framelits - DONE
Honestly, the "Stepped Up" parts are really pretty basic. I added a strip of Pool Party card stock behind the one strip, switched out the backgrounds for another piece of the Designer Series Paper, and added a few embellishments.
Make yourself a "WINNING" notebook. Keep track of all the amazing things you do every day. Go back and read them when you are struggling. You'll see just how awesome you really are.
Next up is Lynn - I can't wait to see what she created for you this month!

Product List
Oh holy cow, these are AMAZING, seriously. I might have to make a few like this to take to OnStage in San Diego. What a fun idea when you want to give someone just a little more than a card! I have a bunch of tiny notebooks waiting around to be used, so this should be perfect...although mine might be too small. What notebooks did you use? Thanks for sharing :-)

These are a great idea! Are you using a purchased notebook? A great idea that I think I'd like to whip up myself!

These are both really cute! What a wonderful idea! It would be a great way to use those favorite scraps of DSP that you just can't get rid of. I think I might make a Christmas one in October when I start making my list. I really like the cover with the dots. Love the texture! What did you use to put the stitching holes around the circle on the second card?
