Hi Stampin' friends!!!! Believe it or not, it's time again for the One Stamp At A Time monthly blog hop! I know that I have been MIA for a few months from this hop due to a string of issues, but hopefully I won't miss any in the future.
The theme for the month is "Creature Comforts" - inspired by animals. I am going to guess that a lot of people have pets they will be inspired by - not here...danged allergies! I actually decided to use this theme for a BABY!!!
Honestly, because of not having animals of my own, I almost skipped out on this month's hop. I am so glad I didn't, I LOVE my projects. My Sister-in-law's little sister (who I count as a niece) is due with her first baby at the end of August, and she is an animal lover, so....well, hopefully she appreciates this.
I REALLY hope she loves it, because I know I DO!!! This was a true labor of love. I thought it would be fun to step up a stamp set that's been in the catalog for a few years, and bring a nice touch of sophistication to it.
Sorry about the slight shadow, this silly card did not want to stay flat! Here is a close up so you can see some of the detail...
I stamped the little fox in Smoky Slate on Shimmery white paper after stamping off once. Then, using Smoky Slate and Gray Granite ink that I picked up with my aquapainter from squishing some into the lid of my ink pad, I started adding the details and shading. I used the same technique on the sweet little branches. Then I lovingly, and painstakingly started fussy cutting, but I think the end result was worth it!
I figured I would want a cute little gift holder to go with the card, so I used the new Lustrous White Gable Boxes for a way to hold a little something for baby.
I followed the same steps for the details on this box as I did for the card above. On both the box and card, This sweet little fox is surrounded by a wash of Petal Pink.
I hope that you enjoyed my projects today, and maybe I even inspired you to pull out some of your "older" sets to see what you can do to make them fun and new again! I've included a full list of supplies at the end of this post to make things a little easier for you if you'd like to order any of the items that I used.
Enjoy the rest of this month's Blog Hop, I am sure that you'll find tons of great ideas!!!
