#tgif175 - It's a Fancy Friday, Tic-Tac-Toe, Bundle kind of day - Stampin' Up! Follow Your Dreams

   Hi friends!!!! I am so happy that you stopped by today!I love Fridays, and when Fancy Friday combines with TGIF Challenges - it's even better! So - I am combining the two challenges/themes this week. I must say, I think they paired up perfectly! Please make sure that you go through the hop - there are some BRILLIANT projects!  The theme for this month's Fancy Friday is "Pick a Bundle", and I decided to pair that with the far left vertical line in the tic-tac-toe board. The bundle that I chose is the Follow Your Dreams bundle. It was my number one must have from the new catalog, and I am so glad that I didn't wait!

 The base of this simple, "one layer" card is Water color paper. After spraying it with some water to prime it, I dabbed Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather inks onto the wet are to create the blended wash area in the background. Instead of stamping any of the images, I wanted the high contrast that I knew I would get from using the die cuts in the bundle. A small piece of Washi tape anchors the dies, pulling it together.

PCC 305 - Paper Craft Crew 305 - Sketch Challenge Stampin' Up! Spirited Snowmen

 Hi there!!!!

    Welcome back to another Paper Craft Crew Challenge! This week is a great sketch challenge. I loved the sketch so much I used this exact card for a swap I participated in. I made 34 of these cards!!! 

   

    Ok, so I might say this a lot, but I think that this might be one of my favorite sets in the Holiday Catalog which you can order from in just a few days!!! Check out these sweet little snowmen.

 Yes, I really did make 34!!! Thank you Stamparatus!!! The most tedious part was placing all those sequins!!! I think that only happened because of our new tool being released - The Take Your Pick tool!!! Trust me - you NEEEED this in your life!!!

Here we go again! Display stamper time...

 Hi friends! Well, that time has come again. Once again, Stampin' Up! has opened up the opportunity to it's Demonstrators to apply to create samples for it's On Stage event. It's an amazing opportunity, one that I haven't had in forever, and I would love to do it again, especially for their big 30th Anniversary event! 

 In order to apply, we must submit 3 cards, 2 3-D items and a scrapbook page. Here are the projects I've chosen.

 

Cards

 

For my first card, I chose the sweet little card I created for this card and gift box with the Foxy Friends stamp set.I loved how by using a different technique I was able to create such a different look with this set!

For my second card, I decided on this one, because I feel it really expresses my style really well. I love the soft watercolor, with the bright colors and bold contrast.

Last but not least for my card entries, I chose this card which combines some of my favorite items from the catalog! I love the Petal Palette stamp set and dies, I LOVE coloring with our Stampin' Blends, and I LOVE fun colors mixed with GOLD!

3-D items

   I love creating 3-D items, and Our dies make it so fun and easy! Here are the two projects I chose to showcase for 3-D.

   

 This fun Summer banner is so bright and cheery! After cutting the letters out of watercolor paper with the Large Letters dies, I watercolored them for a fun ombre look.

 The Takeout Thinlits dies are probably one of the things I am most looking forward to using from this upcoming Holiday catalog!!! Paired with the Spirited Snowmen set it's the perfect, sweet little box for goodies! Once again, I couldn't help but use my Stampin' Blends!

 

Scrapbook page

 

 This page is so special to me. My husband retired last year after a 20 year career with our police department. Finding ways to scrapbook such an accomplishment can be hard, because I can't really use a lot of embellishments, and there aren't a lot of products that lend them selves to the subject. So I have to get creative. I love how I was able to use the Lined Alphabet set in two different ways on this page, and the interest that adds. As an extra special touch, and to add more visual interest I did a very unique "matting" so to speak. I created two different levels under two of the photos with cardstock, sandwiching Pacific Point cardstock in between layers of Basic Black to create a "thin blue line" detail . He said that it's his favorite part of the page.

#tgifc172 Inspiration Challenge - One Last Glance Back at Summer

 Hi there!!! Happy Friday!!! Are you ready for Summer to be over? I am, but I'm not. I am definitely ready for the temps to drop a little bit, it was still 105 here yesterday. I do love summer, I just wish I could spend more of my time in our inspiration photo...

  I REALLY miss the beach, hoping to take a little trip soon. I absolutely adore that fun, bright, cheery umbrella - it's so colorful!!! That's where I chose to focus for my inspiration, even though it's late in the season, I have a jump on next season's Summer Decor with this cute little banner.

  

 Okay, so I might put it up for a few weeks, it makes me so happy! The Large Letters are cut from watercolor paper and then colored using a little ink I smooshed from the ink pads (or you could use re-inkers) I added more ink at the bottoms for a soft ombre look.

PCC303 Sketch Challenge and a Sneak Peek!!! Stampin' Up! Spirited Snowmen

Hi there!!! I am so excited to share this project with you. I know I don't usually share a lot of sneak peek items with y'all, but I just couldn't help myself. This set is just SO CUTE, and perfect for this week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch!

 Funny thing is, I didn't make a CARD! Instead I decided to really pull out all the preview stops and make a cute little box with what might be one of my favorite dies ever - Takeout Treats! Check out how cute!

 Ok, so I might be making a gazillion of these boxes. One thing that I really love about them is that you can make TWO from one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock!!! That's AWESOME!!!

 I cut my box from Real Red Card Stock, then stamped each side separately with a new background stamp "Buffalo Check" that was also inked with Real Red ink. It's a subtle look, but adds a great touch. 

 STAMPIN' TIP - I do suggest stamping each side individually after cutting. This will keep the plaid running in the same direction when the box is assembled. I just used some copy paper to cover up the other side when I was stamping.

 I stamped the snowman image twice so that I could color and cut out extra of the pieces that hung outside of the die cut Stitched Circle. This adds a little bit of extra flair.

 Now - these lovely new items won't be available until September 1st (unless you sign up to be a Demonstrator on my team - then you can order them early!!!) Just to make things a little easier for you though, here is a list of supplies that I used for this card. #tgifc172 Sketch Challenge - Petal Palette, Blends, Wood and a different look

 Hi there! Happy Friday!!! Hope you're having a great day! I'm back this week with a great sketch challenge from TGIF Challenges! Honestly, I was hoping to get this set posted the other day for the OSAT Blog Hop, but I did something pretty gnarly to my back and well, it had to wait a day! Check out this fun sketch -

  I really might kinda love how this turned out. Although it's not how I originally envisioned it!

 What do you think about that Designer Series Paper? It's actually a sheet from the Wood Textures stack, and I stamped it, then I colored it with my Blends, and it looked like this:

 

I really liked it, I thought it was pretty, but when I turned it over, I loved how it had that beautiful, almost watercolored look from the ink from the Blends soaking through the paper. At first I thought that I should just use the original side, but then... well... I decided to embrace that softer look. What do you think? I can't wait to try experimenting with other Designer Paper patterns and stamps!

PCC302 Card Sketch Challenge - Stampin' Up! Lift Me Up

 Hi there!!! Hope you are having a great day! It's been great here, just getting everything ready for back to school. Did I tell y'all that I cried last week dropping off my oldest for HIGH SCHOOL band camp (at the school)??? Seriously! I dropped him, drove to the end of the parking lot and cried. Like a baby. Or like a Momma... goodness! Hopefully it will help on Monday when it's the real deal. LOL! Maybe that's why when I saw this week's sketch challenge I was drawn to Stampin' Up!'s beautiful set - Lift Me Up (and coordinating dies)

 I've always loved this set, just haven't used it in a while. Sometimes I get a little caught up in the new stuff. It was to break this out and give it a new look. Queue Watercolor Pencils and some "faux" watercolor wash...

 Isn't it DREAMY? Want some tips on how to create the card?

1. Use Watercolor Pencils to scribble a spectrum of colors on Shimmery White cardstock. Blend with Aqua Painter. Let dry completely, then cut out balloon with Up and Away Thinlits.
2. Create the water color wash on the background panel (also Shimmery White cardstock). Smoosh acrylic block into Pool Party ink pad, then partially in to Coastal Cabana ink pad, then in Bermuda Bay ink pad. Spritz generously with water, and lay onto cardstock. Allow ink to run, tipping as desired. Let dry completely.
3. Cutting tip for the sentiment - when cutting small strips on your Paper Trimmer, use a small piece of washi tape to hold it in place while you cut.

#tgifc171 Color Challenge - Stampin' Up! Hand Delivered

 Hi there, happy Friday!!! Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am, although that means that we only have one more week of Summer break before the boys head back to school. That's always bittersweet. Today I have a happy, little card to share with y'all. Once again, I used the great set, Hand Delivered. I know what you might be thinking, "Jeanna, that's great and all, but it's a STAMPIN' REWARDS set, and I can't hostess." Well, that's alright, you can still earn it with your own qualifying order! Take a peek at what I did with it this week, and then remind yourself that you really do want this set!

 A few notes about this card:

1. The lady and the flower background were both stamped in StazOn ink on watercolor paper, then colored in with an AquaPainter and re-inkers.
2. To bring a little more dimension to the card, use the Blossom Builder punch to punch a few little flowers out of So Saffron Card Stock. Then give them some life by curling up the edges and adding a Basic Pearl Embellishment in the center. The leaves are also from the punch. Just cut apart the 5 petal, star shaped flower!
3. Ok, so here's a tip. I TOTALLY messed up on this card. I wasn't paying attention and trimmed my Designer Series Paper too short!!! I was so upset at myself for a moment, then I remembered I could just do this:

  I simply cut the paper about where the accent would strip would be and "stretched it out" so to speak!

We Create Blog Hop and PCC301- Tic-Tac-Toe Summertime

 Hi friends! 

     Happy Wednesday and happy first day of August! I can't believe my kiddos will be starting school in just a few weeks. My oldest is going to be a FRESHMAN! YIKES!!! I am not ready for this! Good thing I have stamping to take my mind off of things. Being as I needed to create for both the We Create Blog Hop, and Paper Craft Crew, I decided to combine the two - totally makes things easier some times and right now, I NEED easier!

  Our We Create Blog Hop theme this month is "Summer", and I needed some extra inspiration, so I turned to this week's PCC tic-tac-toe board! I chose: My Favorite Color (Coastal Cabana/Pineapple Punch), Designer's Choice (watercolor) and Natural Accent (wood).

   It seriously took me a while to find my mojo, but I think I'm finally happy with the way this card turned out.

   Just a couple of hints/tips to point out:

 1. I used my favorite new yellow - Pineapple Punch to add the watercolor wash to a piece of watercolor paper, then stamped the sun image for Tabs for Everything in Crushed Curry so they really stood out. I then used just a small touch of water from the Aqua Painter to soften the little suns just a bit.

2. I really wanted to make the "Sunshine" die-cut stand out. I spent quite a bit of time on it, but the end result is STUNNING, and definitely worth a try. I cut it from Flirty Flamingo card stock, then sponged a little of the same color ink at the bottom to create an ombre look to give it depth. Then I very carefully added just a tiny bit of Shimmery White Embossing Paste to give it some sparkle. Finally, when that was dry, I wanted it nice and super shiny, so I went over the whole thing with a Fine-Tip Glue pen and let it dry. That gives it almost an enamel look!

3. I love the look of the "Z fold" ribbon behind an accent, but I don't love wasting ribbon. Here is a little trick I used to save a little of my precious ribbon - lol! I just cut smaller pieces to make it look like it's behind my piece and stick them on with glue dots.
