Hi y'all! Happy Friday! I am so happy to that I actually got to get enough stamping in this week to participate in this week's TGIF Challenge! It's a good one! You should definitely head over to the blog to see what everyone else has created too (click on the challenge photo)!!! Great projects.
SO I actually created two very similar cards for this week. One geared more for a "casual" stamper, and one for a maybe a more "avid" stamper. I'll start with the casual card -
In addition to the Stamp set and punch bundle, the only other tools that you need for this card are a 2" and 2 1/4" circle punches. It takes 3 stamp pads and scissors. Pretty easy. One of my first Stampin' Up! purchases was a Versamark Ink Pad. I loved the versatility of being able to use it for embossing and also as a watermark - or tone-on-tone ink look. That's what I used to create the hearts on the Balmy Blue layer! Here's a little secret. If you have a smaller circle punch, you can punch out the center of the Silver Glimmer paper circle and use it on another project. It also makes it easier to adhere the white circle layer!

I changed it up a little for the more advanced card - but really only added a little.
The main differences are adding the additional layer of Highland Heather, which I embossed using the Polka Dot Basics folder, and coloring in the cake with the Stampin' Blends. I omitted the circles and decided to add a little strip of Silver Glimmer paper to the bottom of the cake layers.
Here's a little coloring tip my mom gave me when I was maybe 7 or 8. When coloring a patter, you can often color the entire area with a lighter color and then go back in with the darker color and add in the details like the dots or stripes!
