PCC327 Sketch Challenge, Stampin' Up! Amazing Life

 Hello!!!! Hope you're having a great day. It's been an exciting around here this week. We had SNOW!!! Now, I know that's not a big deal for a lot of y'all, but it sure is a big deal when you live in Las Vegas. Maybe that pretty white and softness played a part in inspiring my colors to go along with this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenges Sketch Challenge!

 

 

  Isn't it a cute sketch? I was kind of tempted to go "Spring" with this one, but decided instead to make a birthday card that I "needed" instead!

 Ok, so I might be making more of these!!! I LOVE the colors - I LOVE the layout!!! I LOVE THIS SET! Seriously - there are so many occasions you could make projects for with it!!! Do you love the ombre look? I still do, and using the Stampin' Blends, I was able to create this fun look on this card.

 Oh, here's a great tip for when you are layering with Glimmer Paper - I punched a smaller circle out of the Glimmer Paper where it would be hidden by the sentiment circle. This accomplishes two things - first, you don't waste Glimmer Paper that won't be seen, plus, it makes adhering that second layer so much easier!

OSAT Blog Hop - Simple Stamping with Stampin' Up! Humming Along

 Happy Valentine's Day! I LOVE today - I love it for so many reasons, but the main one is that it's my son't birthday!!! Today he turns 13!!! So hard to believe! I have been one busy Mama. SO glad I was able to get in some stamping time this week, I NEEDED it - OSAT and simple stamping to the rescue! I created this set of Thank You cards for my youngest son's GATE teacher to send to a few organizations that helped pull together their recent field trip to the local bird sanctuary. Humming along seemed like a natural choice.

 I found a picture of one of the hummingbirds that are in our area, and fell in love with the colors of this one, and knew that it would make for a stunning card!

  The watercolor pencils are perfect for getting great blending on this bird. Keeping it simple, I didn't use any punches or any Big Shot items, so I needed to find ways to add visual interest. Adding the large tone-on-tone stamped image on the card base, and matting the sentiment strip with Silver Glimmer paper were two easy ways to do this.

 I did use 2 circle punches on the jar though, but I figured it would make a super cute little gift for his hard working teacher. I found these great little plastic jars at the Dollar Tree in the Valentine section. I think I need to see if they have any more....

I can not wait to see what everyone else on the hop has created - make sure that you check them all out - there's bound to be some amazing ideas!

#tgifc198 Sketch Challenge - Stampin' Up! All My Love Inspired

Hello and Happy Friday!!! Woo Hoo - look at me, I have it done in time! LOL, so far, so good with my new master list of things I need to get done. Please tel me I am not the only one who struggles with this. Time management has NEVER been a strength for me!

 It's SO CUTE!!! Although, Once again, I didn't follow directions very well!!! Oh well, that's what inspiration challenges are for - to inspire you. Sometimes that inspiration just takes a tiny detour!

 I do like the way it turned out, even if it is a little unconventional! My favorite part might be where I combined two of the dies from the Be Mine Stitched Framelit Dies to create the large heart. I adhered a few of the heart outline ones on to another piece of Balmy Blue cardstock before I cut out the large stitched heart. I LOVE how it turned out!!! SO there is NO stamping on this card, and it relies heavily on our Fabulous All My Love Designer Series Paper and two different die sets.

TGIF197 Color Combo - Stampin' Up! Hello Cupcake

 Hello! Welcome. Happy TGIF (even if it's really Monday) These last few weeks have been so busy, and they are only going to get crazier as I jump into baseball season around here. Creation Station February Hop - Share What You Love

 Hi! I hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Hopefully you are finding lots of creative inspiration if you've been hopping along with us. If you're just starting - well - get on it!

 This month is all about LOVE! I thought I would make a fairly simple, masculine "love you" card. It could be used for Valentine's Day, or any time you just want to tell a guy in your life that you think he's kind of special. 

 It's no secret that I love to watercolor. I especially love water-coloring intricate, detailed images, but sometimes, I like EASY watercolor too! This technique is a pretty much no fail, more graphic/artsy way to achieve a watercolor look.

 You definitely have to let go of perfectionism with this look! To achieve it, first spritz your watercolor paper with a light mist of water. This will help prepare the paper. After you ink up your stamp, give that a light mist of water as well, and then stamp! The water will blend the colors in all sorts of fun ways. It's not meant to be perfect, but if you do need to, you can always touch up areas with an Aquapainter. As usual for a "guy card" I kept it pretty simple with embellishments to a minimum. Honestly, I guess this card could go to pretty much anyone! It would also take on a pretty look in warmer, bright colors as well.

We Create Blushing Blog Hop - a different take on Stampin' Up! FREE Precious Parcel card kit

 Hi friends!!! Well, it's February, and January seemed unusually long this year for some reason. I guess starting off a new month with the We Create Blog Hop is a pretty good way to kick things off!

  We have some fun new themes for y'all this year, and this month we are focusing on all the beautiful shades of pinks and reds that Stampin' Up! offers. One of my favorite new colors is Petal Pink. I love that it's a soft peachy-pink and can look gorgeously sophisticated.
