July Fancy Friday - New InColor Fun - Stampin' Up! Daisy Lane Style

 Hi Stampin' Friends! Hope you are having a great Summer! We are starting to wind down, creeping up on back to school already! I am so glad we were able to sneak in a vacation. I was so busy getting everything ready for vacay, I ran out of time to do a lot of stamping. Well, good thing it was a road trip with lots of down time! I packed up one bag of some basics, and well - even though I knew it would be a bit of a challenge, I knew I could get some projects done with limited supplies.

 Problem - one of the things I needed to stamp was for this blog post. As you know, this isn't any old post, it's this month's Fancy Friday Blog Hop. How do I do FANCY and SIMPLE? Let me tell ya, it took a while. This month might be a little more on the simple side of things, but I still love the way these cards turned out this month. This month we decided to feature our latest In Color collection - I LOVE these colors!!! 

 Ok, so just remember - LIMITED supplies. I grabbed this bundle, because it's SOOOO freaking versatile, card stock, ink pads/markers, and a sheet of each color Designer Series Paper.....and not much else! Here's what I ended up with.

 So, even though they may be more on the simple side, I love how a GREAT stamp set or bundle can truly be the focal points and stand up to a simple design. I think that using the Bone Folder to add a little curl to the petals add such a nice touch and really adds to the dimension of the cards. Do you have a favorite In Color from this year's collection??? I'm pretty torn, but I do find myself using Seaside Spray quite a bit!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - On My Mind

Hi there and welcome back to my monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! This month we are featuring some great alternative ideas using the July Kit - On My Mind. This was a unique kit as it coordinated with three different product suites from the Annual Catalog! 

 So, I don't happen to have the coordinating suites, AND I was making these in a travel trailer during family vacation! I brought one craft tote with me, a few sheets of cardstock, and a few other "essentials". Paper Pumpkin is seriously awesome to travel with because you have everything you need to create your projects.

 This month instead of creating something completely different with my supplies, I decided to just create some alternate cards. Coolest thing - I still have all of THIS left to create with!!!

Here is how the kit is designed -

 

 Here is how I decided to play!

 With the exception of providing new card bases for these, and an additional ink pad, EVERYTHING else was IN THE KIT!!!

 So, the kit came with these GORGEOUS, lined envelopes...well, mine are being sent in plain envelopes because I couldn't resist using them!!! I opened them up and cut them into these gorgeous layers! I also cut the back off the Kraft cards to use as a layer! LOL!!! What do you think?

 This is the only card that I didn't use the envelopes on! I did however cut up the card that was intended for the sailboat card into layers and added them to a Pretty Peacock card base.

Yeah, I used the liner again. This time I used it on the bottom half of the card and added the pretty patter that I was "supposed" to use! They were layered on the backs of one of the other card bases from the kit I cut off, and layered on to Terracotta Tile card bases. The other little strip of Terracotta Tile is actually a small banner piece included in the kit that I cut in half to make it look like a longer strip!

#TGIFC220 Sketch Challenge - Stampin' Up! Daisy Lane Bundle

Hi there! Happy Friday!!! I really hope you aren't thinking to yourself, "Really, Daisy Lane, AGAIN?" Seriously, can't get enough of this bundle. So many techniques, layouts, occasions... this is a bundle I think EVERYONE NEEDS!!!

 It's so fantastic, that even though I used it in yesterday's post, I HAD to use it for today's sketch too!!!

 Even though I actually used a leftover from yesterday's project, I think this card looks COMPLETELY different!!!

 Once again I started with daisies that I embossed with White Stampin' Emboss powder on Whisper White card stock. I then punched them out with the fabulous coordinating punches!

 I created a simple water-color wash with Coastal Cabana on our AWESOME new Watercolor paper, it's so smooth and blends beautifully. After stamping the stem I added a little extra water to help it blend a little more seamlessly with the overall look. After that it was just adding the Gold Embossed sentiment. It's a pretty simple card, but sometimes the beauty is in the simplicity.

OSAT Blog Hop - Down on the Farm - Daisy Style

 Hi stamping friends!!! 

     Hope you are having a wonderful summer day! I hope I don't jinx things, but we've actually been having a pretty mild summer here. Our high today is expected to be 108, but that's been about as high as we've gotten so far. Anyhow, it is hot enough to make me daydream about being almost anywhere other than in the middle of the desert. The beach, the mountains, maybe a nice country farm some where? This month our theme is Down on the Farm. I started out with visions of our awesome Over the Moon or This Little Piggy stamp sets, but my visions kind of took a bit of a turn, maybe to a little flower patch behind the barn...like a little Daisy Lane!

   Daisy Lane is probably one of my favorite bundles in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog. I have a few, and I am not sure I could pick an actual favorite (kind of like my kiddos - LOL)but I keep going back to this one! So my projects today focus on this great bundle. A sweet little country farm inspired card and wreath.

I'll start with the wreath as is was my initial inspiration. This was seriously picked and pulled from pieces in my stamp room. A simple grapevine wreath from the dollar store, and a sweet little galvanized milk can from Hobby Lobby that was still sitting in it's bag I brought it home in, just waiting for the perfect project. 

Sweet little thing, right? I can not get enough of this adorable scalloped edge ribbon!!! I want to use it everywhere! 

 All that was left was to fill it with cute little daisies! I stamped the daisy image on Whisper White card stock with Versamark Ink, and embossed them with White Stampin' Emboss powder. It was kind of tricky to see them, but sponging their centers with some Daffodil Delight ink made it a little easier to line up in the coordinating punch. After gluing them together, I just added them around the wreath.

 I managed to resist putting one more daisy on my wreath, so that I could add it to my card. I LOVE the bright, country feel of this color combo, gingham and scallop edging! The stem image is stamped on the Crumb Cake card stock with Early Espresso ink, then colored in with Watercolor pencils. After coloring, I ran it through my embossing machine in the Subtles Texture folder. There is a little Wink of Stella on the word friend, but that is usually pretty hard to photograph - but I promise it looks cute!

We Create Red, White, and Blue Blog Hop

 Hello, and Happy JULY!!! I LOVE celebrating our Independence Day on the 4th - it's one of my favorite holidays. It's also the month we finish up American Legion Baseball, sneak in a much needed family vacation and start gearing up for back to school. It's nice to take some much needed breaks in the stamp room. Even if I am re-organizing and redecorating, and everything is a mess! LOL

 

 I'm really not sure how this came to my head, but boy am I glad it did!!! It's one of my faves, and looks great on my little shelf, ready to celebrate!

 There's not any stamping, just some cutting and die-cutting, and a steady hand with the glue. Best part, ALL of these patterned papers come in one awesome little 6x6 Designer Series Paper Stack - the Neutrals.

 The flag itself measures 3 1/4" x 5", and all of the stripes are 1/4". To tell you the truth, I was kind of on the fence with this alphabet die set - not anymore! Now I just can't wait to play more!

 I can not wait to see what everyone else on the hop has created this month. I am sure that there are going to plenty of ideas that I am sure to be inspired by!!! Next up is my beautiful friend Kimberley!
