A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Winter Gifts

 Hi there! Welcome back! It's time for this month's A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! This month was the second in a two month special coordinated set for Christmas/ Winter. Last month featured some really pretty cards, and this month's kit came with all the supplies for some gorgeous coordinating gift tags.

 I had a TON of ideas for this month's kit, but between being sick last week, kids out of school this week and Thanksgiving, well...cards it was for me.

 I am super excited to share these cards with you, because of the story behind them. I know I don't usually get to into the backstories, but this one was pretty cool. The other night I went in to my stamp room to start working on my projects when my 15 year old son came walking in. He sat on the floor and started to talk with me. I started to struggle with my original idea, when he got up and walked over to my desk. He started making suggestions with different colors and layouts, and well, this first card is what he came up with!!! I am SO FREAKING PROUD!!!

 Can you see why I am proud? I know that it's a pretty modern, clean and simple kind of card and that it might not be everyone's cup of tea for a Christmas card, but it's HIM. About the only idea I had was to put the cardinal die on the black. He came up with the Basic Gray main background, embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder, and the rest of the layout.

 I was showing it off to Andrea when she suggested I make a stepped up version. I remember back when I was on the Artisan team, my hubby and I would do it occasionally - he would make a card, then I would do the "Artisan" version. So I set back to work to see what I could do. I pulled out a few more of the dies in the kit, added a few layers and Ta-Dah!

 It's so fun to play with all of the fun pieces in the Paper Pumpkin kits! I love the shiny silver snowflake accents that came with this month's!!!

#tgifc239 Technique Challenge - Dry Embossed Vellum, Stampin' Up! Perfectly Plaid

 Hi!!!! Happy Friday! It's been a CRAZY week, and I still need to share pics from last week's TGIF Stampin' party, but I have been SUPER sick since Sunday. I did manage to sneak in the stamp room for a few minutes yesterday though, so I whipped up a quick, clean and simple card for this week's TGIF Challenge!

 Like I mentioned, I haven't been feeling well, so I wanted something pretty quick. I think that the Vellum embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder made easy work of that, as it's pretty stunning on it's own.

 I went with a very non-traditional color combination, but I love the softness of it! Once I had the basic card layered, I added a tree stamped in Gray Granite on Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the coordinating Christmas Tree punch. 

 One nice thing about using this embossing folder with the Vellum was that it was easy to make sure that the adhesive didn't show, which can sometimes be an issue with Vellum. I just lightly applied a thin line of Multipurpose Glue on all the "de-bossed" areas that would touch the cardstock. The embossing makes the Vellum slightly more opaque, so it doesn't show!

Fancy Friday - Blue Christmas - Stampin' Up! Perfectly Plaid

 Hi!!! Welcome back. I'm excited for this month's Fancy Friday Blog Hop! While I don't decorate in blues for Christmas, I LOVE the look of it. I am sure that the wonderfully talented ladies in this hop are going to have tons of inspiration for us!

 I am still loving my Perfectly Plaid Bundle, so I knew I could come up with a card for this challenge!

 I love the blues and the silvers and the sparklies!!! I started by inking the trees with Seaside Spray, then adding a little bit of a shadow by sponging on a little Night of Navy along the edge of the trees with a Sponge Dauber. It's so nice having a coordinating punch! I sponged on a little of the Night of Navy and Seaside Spray on the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper. The thread behind the trees is actually from the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon. If you carefully cut along one of the long edges, you can separate the fibers for a fun acccent. I also embossed the Star Designer Elements with Silver Embossing Powder so that they would coordinate!

 Have you used the Ice Stampin' Glitter? I LOVE IT!!! I honestly think I could use it year round....

Class to Go Update - Elfie

Hi friends!
Just wanted to touch base with you. I know many of you are awaiting the release of this month's Class to Go Kit. Due to an unexpected family issue, there will be a delay in me getting this released to you. I will do my best to get it out soon, but I appreciate your understanding.
Sometimes life throws us curve balls and we have to make adjustments. I'm doing my best right now, and focusing on what I feel in my heart I need to for my family.

Creation Station - Girl Power Gratitude

 Hi friends!!!!

    Hope this beautiful morning finds you doing well. Today I am joining in with the other amazingly talented designers on the Creation Station Blog Hop to bring you a SUPER fun theme! Girl Power!

 Now at first my card might not really evoke the feelings of "Girl Power" - but to me, it exemplifies it.

 You see, this card is inspired by my mom. She's the most amazing woman in the world. I will never be able to thank her enough for all that she has done for me and taught me. She has taught me to have unwavering strength, even when times are hard. She's taught me to be soft and feminine when needed. She's taught me to love, and nurture and care for those around me. She's taught me to love unconditionally. She might only be 4'11", but to me she is 10 ft tall. She is truly a beautiful soul, who showed me that sometimes our greatest strengths would come when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable. I am not sure I will ever be able to measure up. I pray that I can instill the same love, value and memories in my children that my mother gifted to my brother and me. To me - there is no greater "Girl Power" than motherhood, and femininity. To me - that is my mom. She's been dealing with some health challenges lately and is continuing to live this example. If you believe in the power of prayer, I would truly appreciate a moment for my mom. I believe, and she believes, and I know she would appreciate it too.

  There is going to be some amazing inspiration for you today through this hop. I hope that you enjoy it and are inspired by it. Next up is the lovely Elizabeth Price

 Hey, Y'all!!!! Happy November! Welcome back - as usual, I'm starting off the month hopping with the We Create Blog Hop ladies! This month we are focusing on the gorgeous Regals Color Collection.

 My husband and I recently celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. Through the years, I have tried to stick with certain themes to our anniversary cards. I like to either base them around a style similar to our wedding, or similar colors. Lucky for me - our colors fall right in line with our Regals Collection.

 I love the way our Regals look stamped on Crumb Cake, yet it's a look I often forget. They are so rich looking and kind of lends a little bit of a casual, kind of country look to it.
