Hey friends!!! Welcome back! Is it just me, or does January seem to take longer than October, November, and December combined?!?! It's been a long and challenging month, but it's been a lot of fun too. Of course one of my best stress relievers is my creative time. I love how easy our Paper Pumpkin Kits can make that. Whether you are the type that likes to stick to the projects as our designers create them, or you like to think a little outside of the box and let your creative side run wild, they are seriously one of my favorite things!
Now, this month's kit primarily focused on some adorable little gift bags meant for Valentine's treats - but this kit has SOOOO much more versatility, and this hop will prove it! I went super rogue this month, and really only used the stamp set for my projects!!! (Plus, I really want to make the little gift bags the way they're designed - LOL)
I LOVE how this month's kit coordinated so well with the From My Heart Suite of products in the Jan-June Mini Catalog, so I decided to really combine them.
If you have followed me for any time, you might remember that I LOVE Valentine's Day! Mostly because I have a sweet little Valentine of my own who happens to turn 14 on the 14th of February this year. Well, after years of decorating conservatively of V-Day because I usually decorated the house for a boy's birthday party - this year I finally asked him if I could really have fun with it - he was ALL FOR IT!
My first level of business was to start creating some decorations for a 3ft. Valentine's Tree (aka one of my small Christmas Trees).
I used the floral pattern stamp and stamped it in Versamark Ink on to Real Red cardstock, then embossed it using White Stampin' Emboss Powder. After that, I punched it out with the simple heart punch from the Suite, then layered them on to the scalloped hearts punched from Crumb Cake cardstock using the other punch from the bundle. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to give them that 3-D touch and to allow room for me to sandwich the the Braided Linen Trim for a hanger.
I usually try to coordinate my projects for this hop, but this month I wanted to really showcase that versatility again, so I decided to go with a softer look.
Once again I focused on the floral pattern. After stamping in in Petal Pink on Whisper White, I stamped the letters in Versamark and embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. This soft color palette and feminine details like the Parisian Embossing Folder, the Vellum Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle, loopy Linen Thread bow and Champagne Rhinestones really make this a super sweet card.
