Stampin' Fancy Friday - Sketch Challenge - Christmas Gleaming

 Hi there!!! Welcome back! I am sure that you have seen the amazing other projects that the rest of the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team has shared with this sketch challenge on our Instagram Page - Holy Smokes! I loved seeing all of the wonderful variety. We've also loved seeing all of the projects that y'all have created with it and shared as well!

 I might be one of the last ones this month, but hopefully I'm worth the wait - LOL! I used this amazing sketch to create a set of Christmas Cards!

 I bought Christmas Gleaming last year when it originally came out last year, but didn't end up using it in time before Christmas, so I was happy to see it come back! I figured I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity again!!!

 I started with a great base of a Whisper White layer embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder - I LOVE this look. The new Gold Hoop embellishments are AMAZING!!! I sooo need more! (SO do YOU!!! ) 

 I did color all of the holly berry images with my Stampin' Blends, and I did cut them all out by hand. I would totally do it again - so worth it! Do you see that trim? I almost totally missed it in the new Stampin' Up! August-December catalog!!! I'll be using that a lot too!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - World's Greatest

 Hi there! Welcome back. The Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop is back today to show off just some of the great ideas that you could create with this month's Paper Pumpkin kit!

 

 I was a little unsure of what to do with this kit, until I realized that one of the main color schemes was literally PERFECT for my boys school colors... hello cards and gifts for the best band teacher and also the baseball coach!

  It's a pretty simple layout, but by cutting the cards in the package in to strips, you can get SIX strips of those plaid background strips.

I also used some of the same design to create a front panel for the Little Treats Bundle Box!!!

 I love that all of the Stampin' Up! products coordinate so well - I love how adding the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon looks!!!

#tgifc278 Inspiration Challenge - Jar of Flowers, Using Watercolor Pencils

 Hi there, Happy Friday!

    It's our last week of Summer Vacay here, we start school on Monday. Hard to believe I will have 2 in high school, and a 5th grader! It's been a busy last week too!!! We FINALLY had our backyard landscaped, no more desert dirt lot! I LOVE it, I am just looking forward to when it's not 110 degrees or more outside.

   I think this was a FUN inspiration challenge this week, and looking at some of the other projects from the other designers was super cool, because we definitely all have our own spin on it! I kind of started with probably the most obvious of the inspiration....

 I grabbed my Jar of Flowers stamp set again (did you see THIS card?). This time, instead of reaching for my go-to Blends, or using my reinkers and ink pads to watercolor, I grabbed my Watercolor Pencils. I chose to use them just like colored pencils, and didn't do any additional blending.

 Here's a better look at the flowers....

 Took a while, but it was fun to do. The best advice I can give when coloring is to not be afraid of adding multiple colors to a color. Like the stems. When you see real stems, you see greens, browns, sometimes hints of orange... color that way. Same with flowers and leaves. Use multiple shades of greens and yellows in your leaves, different yellows and oranges in your flower petals...

#tgifc277 Sketch Challenge - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Friendship - A Practically Perfect Stamp Set

 Hi there! Happy Friday! SO glad to have you back today, joining me with the TGIF crew and our Sketch Challenge for this week! This week I used one of the BEST stamp sets to create a birthday card specifically for one of the most important people in my life.

 There's something wonderful about EASY floral stamp sets. The kind that you can just grab a few stamps, a few ink colors, randomly stamp (kind of) and come up with a beautiful, natural looking arrangement of flowers! Beautiful Friendship is that kind of set. It made it a natural for me to grab when I wanted to create a birthday card to the best Sister In Law in the world.

I wanted something bright and cheery, so I chose a light color palette, focusing on the Subtles. I suggest starting with your largest flowers, then work your way down to the smaller one. You can fill in with the little accents and the leaves to fill in any blank spots. After I stamped, I did run it through my embossing machine with the Subtle Embossing Folder. The coordinating strip across the front is embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder. 

Ok, I have to brag on myself a little, or tell on myself, depending on how you want to look at it. I have a tendency to hoard the special embellishments. Is it just me? LOL. Anyhow, I told you, this card was going to no ordinary woman! She deserves the In Good Taste Embellishments (and a lot more) SO I USED THEM!!!!LOL

The good news is, I was already able to give it to her, and she loved it! I am so glad that our Stampin' Up! products make it so easy to create beautiful projects!

#tgifc276 Color Challenge - Unconventional Christmas with Stampin' Up! Snowflake Wishes

 Happy Friday, y'all!!!! Well, it's still over 100 degrees out here in Las Vegas. Maybe the heat is getting to me, because when I saw this week's bright color combo over at the TGIF Challenges Blog, I thought of snowflakes?!?!

 Now, I am sure that YOU are thinking that the heat is getting to me too! LOL.

 I really did think of snowflakes, and I wanted to create one of the trendy "slim line" cards that so many are making lately. Take a peek, tell me what you think.

 These snowflakes are going to be SO MUCH FUN!!! There's a FABULOUS coordinating die set, but you can totally make cute things without them too!!! 

   Take a look at some of the details

 The base of the card is 8 1/2" x 8", scored at 4". I have seen the cards this size, and also 8 1/2" x 7", scored at 3 1/2" 

 I stamped a strip of Whisper White cardstock full of Magenta Madness, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape snowflakes, then cut the squares to be matted on Smoky Slate. MOST of the snowflakes I did stamp off one time on my Grid Paper first, to tone down the bright colors.

 I added some vellum snowflakes cut with the So Many Snowflake Dies, and made them sparkle with some Wink of Stella. I also added a few Adhesive Backed Snowflakes and a thin strip of the Snowflake Splendor Ribbon.

 Do you just LOVE that new snowflake embossed background? It's the Winter Snow Embossing Folder and will add just the right touch to your Christmas/Winter themed projects this year.

 Ok, so here are the supplies you'll need if you want to make this card. I'm including the ink pads that I used, but of course you could always recreate this card with your choice of colors.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Summer Nights

 Hey, hey! Did you just LOVE this last month's Paper Pumpkin kit? I know I did! I had so much fun playing with the Summer Nights box and AWESOME add on kit! I came up with a few alternatives for you, and so did all the rest of the amazing designers on this hop!

 I love that we get to come up with a card idea and a "3D" type item! I always TRY to get them coordinate, they don't always, but I managed to pull it off this month. Do you like making 3D/giftable items with your Paper Pumpkin kit supplies?

 I'll share my gift item with you first - 

 I had this sweet little jar candle that was kind of begging to be dressed up. I wrapped a piece of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper around the candle, and tied it in place with a length of the sweet Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon. I then made a little tag with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The sentiment from the Summer Nights set was stamped in Versamark ink and embossed. The little jar is also from the Summer Nights set. I cut off the little hanger and made one with Linen Thread.

 I made the card after I did the candle, and wanted them to coordinate - 

 I used the same Designer Series Paper and sentiment, then added the cute little  Lightening Bug die cuts and the AWESOME vellum jars from the kit. To make the bugs a little extra fun, I added some Elegant Faceted Gems on their little bodies!

  It really is a fun kit with ENDLESS possibilities. There's still a few days left to get in on this month's kit -

Creation Station Blog Hop "Where the Wild Things Are Party Animals" Stampin' Up! Zany Zebras Style

 Hey Hey!!! What's up, stampin' friend??? It's Creation Station time?!?! Do you love this monthly blog hop as much as I do? I mean, how could you not, right? Fun themes, great designers... talk about a fun theme this month - "Where the Wild Things Are Party Animals" Fun little mash up of ideas, right? While I am still mourning the loss of my pigs and cow stamp sets from our last catalog, I do have these sweet little, Zany Zebras that needed some ink love!

 Ok, so even though I couldn't put little flowers on my old Piggy Set to coordinate with that awesome pic, I knew I would have fun with the Zebras...

 This zebra just looked happy to me, so "WooHoo!" seemed totally appropriate. Got to love the Playful Alphabet Dies. I love being able to create so many different sentiments. In addition to the Zebra, I also used the Pattern Play stamp set. I actually used the backside of the pattern stamp to create the look of a watercolor wash of Pool Party ink in the background, then flipped it the right way on the block to stamp the pattern in Basic Gray ink.

 I did add some shading details to the zebra with my Gray Granite Stampin' Blends, and had to make the letters sparkle with a touch of a Wink of Stella brush!

 It's a cute card if I do say so myself, and it came together pretty quickly once I decided on my colors! To make it a little easier on you to recreate the card, here is a list of all the products that I used, so you can purchase them for yourself!

We Create Blog Hop - "Snacks & Beverages" Create Stand-Out Treat holders with Stampin' Up!'s new Little Treats Bundle

 Hello, and HAPPY AUGUST!!! Ok, I am really hoping for a nice, normal, calm August. That being said, our family is going through some serious trials, so prayers would TOTALLY be appreciated! One thing that I am looking forward is spending more time back in my stamp room, creating for y'all - as in some NEW CLASSES!!! Woot Woot! I am sneaking in at the last minute with the We Create Blog Hop - to share some fun "Snacks & Beverages" ideas!!!

 Well, I got the "snacks" part done...but this new Little Treats Bundle from Stampin' Up! is SO inspiring, I might just keep creating with it today to make MORE treats and drink treats!!!

 To start off with, I went with the first one to pop in my head - Halloween! Not sure why, because it's 113 degrees here right now! LOL!!! Maybe because it's because of these cool, snack size packs of "Zombie" Skittles that I found...(you will have to fold in the sides of the little bag to keep them from sticking out the top)

 Want to know how to make it?

1.  Die cut one of the boxes from the Little Treat Box Dies (8 1/2" x 5" Smoky Slate Cardstock)
2. Use the scrap and cut one extra "front" or the box.
3. Emboss the "front" with the new Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder.
4. Highlight the cobweb by dragging a White Craft Ink pad lightly over the embossed image.
5. Punch Banner using the Banners Pick a Punch in a 3/4" strip of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock. Stamp sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat emboss in White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Trim to size, and adhere to the bottom corner using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
6. Create the little flags by coloring direct on the stamp with Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape and Basic Black Markers, and trim. If you don't have the markers, you can always stamp two of the flag banners, one in each color and layer them after trimming. Adhere to the embossed front.
7. Die cut the little spider in the Little Treat Box dies from a scrap piece of Basic Black Cardstock. Highlight with Wink of Stella and adhere to the embossed front.
8. Embellish the front with small Rhinestones.
9. Adhere the embossed box front to the box using the Liquid Multipurpose Glue. Fold up the sides of the box, and insert your treat!
10. To tie the box shut, cut a length of Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon. Make it custom by coloring it in with the light Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blend.
