So, you KNOW that Sale-A-Bration is almost over, right? There's only about a week left! YIKES! That's why when our TGIF Challenge came up this week, I knew I wanted to share this Darling Donkey card I recently made for my son's birthday with you!
My kiddo is such a fun, happy, fun-loving kid, so I knew that even though he's getting a little older, I could have some fun with his card. I definitely had fun making this one!
I loved adding lots of texture, pattern, and shine on this one. Here's a few key details.
- Pinewood Planks is a "must have" embossing folder for me. I use it a LOT. I think it's great for both masculine and feminine cards.
- Instead of doing one main sentiment, I stamped the "It's Your Birthday" sentiment multiple times on a strip of Basic White cardstock to create a fun little "Designer Paper" of my own.
- After coloring the balloon, which I used my Stampin' Blends for, I added dimension with both the shading at the bottom, and the highlight at the top that I created with the Chalk Marker. I then covered it with Versamark and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.
- The little banners also have just a tiny touch of sparkle thanks to a quick brush of Wink of Stella.
