Creation Station Blog Hop - It's the Season for....... SUNFLOWERS!

Hello!!!! So happy you decided to stop by today! I am so excited to be hopping with the Creation Station Blog Hop Team today. I think that there are going to be so many great ideas with this month's theme - It's the Season for.... I mean, we are a global team, so not everyone is getting to experience the same season the same way! Should be fun right?

I am so happy that we are finally getting some Fall like weather here in Las Vegas. We don't get the awesome color changing leaves or anything, but it is a little cooler which is nice. Hopefully someday I will get to live somewhere that has a real Fall, but until then, I can look at pictures on-line and dream about living in a little Hallmark Movie town.

When I think of this time of year, I do think of sunflowers. I know they are very much a summer flower, but to me they still have their place in Fall. I haven't created with my Celebrate Sunflowers bundle lately, so I figured now would be the perfect time to play!

Ok friend - I LOVE this card! What do you think? I know it might be a little non conventional in some ways, but I love it! I love the bold sunflower with the contrast of the Basic Black and Black Gingham Ribbon. I love all the layers and textures. It's just, well....it's going to be hard to give this one away!

While I used two different colors of card stock on the flower itself, I had to get a little creative with the center and the leaves. I wanted there to be just a little bit of difference in the shades, so I used my trusty Stampin' Blends! So both parts of the leaves, the background and detail are both cut from Just Jade cardstock, but I used my Dark Just Jade Blend marker to deepen the color a little. I did the same with the Soft Suede center of the flower. Have you used your Stampin' Blends markers to do this before? It's a great technique!
