Hello friend!!! Thank you so much for stopping by today. My guess is that you are here enjoying the amazing One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop today. There should be some amazing projects for you today, especially with this month's great theme - Step It Up! We are featuring projects at different skill levels to inspire everyone today!
Ok, so I will admit. I have had a bit on my plate, and I am currently on my way to Atlanta to take my son to fulfill his lifelong (he's 11) dream of seeing pandas in real life. We had planned the trip for his 10th birthday last year, but with covid we've had to postpone it. I can not wait to see the look on his face when he FINALLY get to see them! I think I will probably cry.
Why did I tell you all that? Well, you see...we were supposed to create one project at THREE different skill levels. I created one at TWO. One more beginner, and one a little more experienced. Once I realized my error, it was honestly too late to create another level in there for y'all, but I am hoping you will forgive me :) please? The tags are pretty cute.....
Here's the more simplified version -
To create the tags, start with a 2"x 4 1/4" strip of cardstock, and use the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. Add 1"x 2" strips of the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, then add a stamped and punched snowman. 6" pieces of the Black and White Glittered Organdy Ribbons are threaded through the hole, and secured with a length of Linen Thread. You only need Memento Black ink for these, and a Pumpkin Pie marker for the carrot nose if you choose.
Here are the stepped up tags -
While it might not look like a LOT of changes, there are definitely a few extra touches. To create these, you would start the same way, except before adding the Designer Series Paper, you would want to stamp the snowflake image in Versamark Ink on each of the tags. You would also stamp and color each of the hats with Stampin' Blends on Thick Basic White before punching out with the coordinating punch, as well as add a little shading with a Light Pool Party Bend on the snowman. These little guys are popped up on Dimensionals to give the tags more interest. You would also add a length of the Black and White Gingham Ribbon, and secure the ribbons by tying a piece of Metallic Mesh Ribbon around them. Small changes, but the do step the tags up a bit!
So - being as I messed up and only did the two samples, I was thinking of ways that you could step them up even more. Here are a few ideas.
- Create a second tag in one of the coordinating colors of cardstock and emboss it with one of awesome Embossing Folders, maybe the snowflakes from Wintry 3D. Stack them and tie them together with the ribbons.
- Add a coordinating layer of cardstock as a mat under the Designer Series Paper strip.
- Stamp the arm images before punching them out.
- Add some Red Rhinestones to the hat where the berries are.
- Heat emboss the snowman image before punching out in Black Embossing Powder. You could also emboss the "to/from" the same way.
I hope I have inspired you today with these tags. I know that there is bound to be amazing inspiration in today's hop, and I invite you to continue on with the hop and check them all out!
