A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Peaceful Christmas

 Hi there, stamping friend. Welcome to my stop on the Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog for this month. Can you even believe how beautiful this month's Peaceful Christmas cards are? This has been one of my more favorite kits in a while. Funny thing is, I wouldn't classify it as my "typical style", Funny how that happens sometimes, huh? 

 Hopefully, you were subscribed in time to get this one, it's lovely! It coordinates perfectly with the Peaceful Place Suite from the July-December 21 catalog, so I am guessing that as you go through the hop, you might see a few of those pieces.

 Now, we are SUPPOSED to create a card and a 3D project for you, BUT....I didn't listen. I wanted to get as many cards out of this kit as possible, because I figure that most of us send out the most cards during this time of year. So... I have two simple ways to change up the printed cards from kit a little to give them a fresh look.

They really aren't extremely different from the samples, but I started by cutting each card down in to two 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" card fronts. One I attached to a Basic Gray Cardstock base, the other to a Crumb Cake one.

I cut the Shaded Spruce printed gingham layers from the kit in to 1 1/4" x 4 1/8" strips to anchor the banner and the sentiment. I did trim a bit off one end of the banner so it would be flush with the edge, and stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink on to Crumb Cake Cardstock and heat embossed it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. The Label Me Fancy Punch is the same shape as the ones in the kit, so that worked out quite nicely. A touch of Linen Thread and those were done!

 This one was simple, but I love how elegant it looks, even with a touch of gingham from the Black and White Gingham Ribbon bow! Again, I used the banner piece from the kit, and embossed the sentiment, although this time in Silver Embossing Powder directly on the label from the kit. Once I added a few of the gems from the kit, it was done.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Haunts and Harvest

 Hello! Welcome back. I am so glad that you could join us on this month's A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, where our fabulous team of Stampin' Up! bloggers bring you lots of alternative inspiration ideas with your Paper Pumpkin Kit. This month we are featuring a super fun kit, Haunts & Harvest.

 It's a fun kit, meant to create some adorable little gift boxes. 

 Honestly, they are adorable, and I want to make them all up and hand them out, so I chose to do my alternates for you today with just the stamp set and a few other supplies. Hopefully you have them on hand too so you can recreate them, if not just find some other colors that might work well together and use what you do have!

 Have you ever heard of the "faux silk" stamping technique? If so, it might have been a while since you have seen it used, I know I often forget about it, despite loving the look. If not, well then please allow me to introduce you to it!

 It really isn't so much a stamping technique, just the medium you stamp on and how you finish it. All you have to do to create the faux silk look is stamp on a piece of tissue paper (make sure you have some protective scrap or grid paper underneath to take care of any ink bleeding through).  Once you have it stamped the way that you like, let it dry a lit, then carefully wad it up into a little ball - LOL. Seriously, I want you to crumple it up, and carefully smooth it back out. To adhere it to your card, cover your cardstock that you will be putting it on with a glue stick, then wrap the excess tissue around the back and adhere on the back! I love the soft texture and extra interest it provides.

 I used another piece of the stamped tissue to create this great little treat box!

 It would make a great little Thank You gift set, don't you think? The little box is just a half sheet of cardstock (8.5" x 5.5") scored at every 2" along the long side, then turn it once and score at 2" along that side. Cut the flaps at the bottom, and it's just easy box assembly from there.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing - Hope Box

 Hello! Welcome! It feels like it's been forever since I've blogged, or stamped for that matter. Things have been bust here. Lots of challenges. Little challenges, but lots of them. I hope that today finds you well :)

 Today I get the chance to hop with the Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop crew, to share some great alternative projects from the gorgeous Hope Box. This box was seriously probably one of my all time favorite boxes ever. Funny thing is, I can say that even though there's scary butterflies (lol). I LOVE the colors and cards and the sentiment stamps. What an awesome kit. Thanks to the awesome Paper Pumpkin team at Stampin' Up! for this one!

 I could hardly believe all of the gorgeousness included in the box, never mind the fact that the box itself can be decorated!!!

 I absolutely LOVED the fun, bright colors in the kit, and the gorgeous watercolor look. I decided to keep with the bright color theme with my cards today.

 

 For this clean and simple style card, heat emboss the small butterfly image with white Stampin' Emboss Powder, then use Sponge Daubers to add Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, Bumblebee, Bermuda Bay, and Blackberry Bliss on top. To make sure that the embossed images popped, wipe off any excess ink. You'd also want to emboss the sentiment to keep with the same feel.

 I LOVE this card, and plan on making lots more of it! I kept the background a bit on the simple side so that the multicolored sentiment would be the star of the show. To create this look, just take the same sponge daubers as above and add the ink colors directly to the stamp! Easy, and such a great impact.

 Fun, right? The possibilities from this Paper Pumpkin kit are endless, and I can't wait to see all of the great projects from this hop!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - The Adventure Begins

 Hello and welcome back! I am so excited to share some fun alternative ideas with you today, featuring the Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit, The Adventure Begins.

 Some months I love going really over the top with the Paper Pumpkin alternates, but this month kind of called for a different look for me. I decided to make a card and mini notebook for one of my boys as he returns to school. I thought that the sentiment really leant itself, and it would be a nice little surprise for him. 

 I did put more detail in to the card, and kept the little notebook very simple, with the hopes that he will keep it in his backpack as a spot to write down hopes, dreams, and accomplishments as he goes through this coming school year. That meant no dimension, no embellishments. Just a stamp, some ink, and some cardstock. I don't want anything to get caught as he uses it.

 I did add a little embossing on the card with the pine detail from Wintry 3D Embossing Folder set. It also comes with a gorgeous snowflake one! I also added a few little swirls of some Linen Thread for even more interest. Lots of Stampin' Dimensionals on this one too - behind the Granny Apple Green Tree, behind the embossed layer, and behind the Basic White layer.

 I actually love this tree image from the kit and plan on adding it in to a lot of my projects! I know that you will find so many great ideas on today's hop. A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Batter Up!

 Ok, I am SO FREAKING EXCITED about today's hop!!! I have been waiting for this Paper Pumpkin Kit since they first came out. Seriously. I NEEDED this kit like no body's business! In this house of 4 boys, plus me - it's eat, sleep, play baseball!!! In fact, we just got back from a 3 day, out of town baseball tournament. For those that are curious, we battled hard, and ended in 3rd place.

 Now, back to the Paper Pumpkin Kit. I had to narrow down what I wanted to make. I can not wait to use this stamp set, over and over. The other kit components are pretty cool, but I know I will get a lot of use for this stamp set.

First thing I wanted to make was a fun little treat box that I could fill with classic "baseball snacks" for the boys.

 The first thing I did was to stamp a row of bats along the Smoky Slate box base. It reminded me of all the bats lined up along the fences in the dugouts. My favorite part is probably the label though. I love how it turned out. I stamped the sentiment once in Basic Gray on the label from the Tasteful Label Dies, then once again on a scrap of Basic White in Pacific Point ink and cut out the center portion of the sentiment and popped it up on Dimensionals. How about that hat? I stamped it in Night of Navy Classic Ink, then finished coloring it in with the Light Night of Navy Blends Marker. Those darling little stars are from the new Shaker Shapes! They are so fun.

 I kept it pretty simple for the card, but I loved integrating the stamp set with the Stitched Stars Dies, and a fun color combo! I added varying sized strips of Smoky Slate and Basic White on the top Smoky Slate layer, it gives the card some great dimension. I created the look of a custom paper by stamping the hat image in Versamark Ink on the card base. In addition to the Crushed Curry Stitched Stars (that I stamped with the Dad sentiment in Crushed Curry Ink), I added some of the smaller stars in Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point Cardstock. It's a simple, yet detailed card...if that makes any sense - LOL!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - So Cool

 Hello!!!! So happy to have you join us for the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! Please tell me that you got this month's kit? OMG! Adorable is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! I am absolutely head over heels for this kit and the stamp set...well, I kind of can't stop using it! I had a blast creating my alternative ideas for you this month!

 So, I was so in love with the way that this month's cards were designed, I actually made them all up exactly as shown! YIKES. I couldn't help it...I mean they were adorable. That meant I had a two options with my ideas for you today. Use the adorable stickers that they included for us this month, or just create with the stamp set. I actually chose the stamp set. I seriously love the stamp set.

 First up is a card. I admit, I colored so many watermelons and ice pops so many different ways, it was a bit hard to decide which ones to use. Ultimately I went with some good ol' classic Blends colored watermelons for this one. I think I have been wanting this line art style in a fun, whimsical, easy stamp image for so long!

Aren't they just PERFECT?!?!!? I used the two shades of Just Jade for the rind, and the new In Color Polished Pink, along with Real Red Stampin' Blends for the juicy, sweet, fruit. If you aren't a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and didn't get a chance to pre-order the new Polished Pink products, don't worry, just a few more days!!! You can get yours on May 4th!!! I also used the Dark Just Jade Blend Marker on the Just Jade Cardstock to create the fun background. To add a little more whimsy, and to mimic the look of the art style, I used my Black Journaler Marker to add a little interest to the So Sweetly Stitched scalloped rectangle die cut piece.

 Next up, I decided to make a "sweet" little box from the Love You Always Treat Boxes. These fun little "matchbox" style boxes are so fun to decorate!!!! I grabbed another stack of watermelons I had colored, and used them for my inspiration!!! I am REALLY going to have a hard time giving this one away....

 I am not sure I could have made this any cuter!!! The color combo of Granny Apple Green and Polished Pink, paired with good old Black, White, and Silver...well, let's just say that this is not going to be the last time you see this!!! WOWSERS... I LOVE IT!

 I love all the fun little details. I just hope that I can find something good enough to put in it to make it worthy of the packaging! LOL.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Here's To You

 Hello! Have you been wondering where I've been with this post? Well, due to some different circumstances, we needed to move our hop back a week. It's ok though, we wanted to make sure that you could have as many ideas with last month's Paper Pumpkin Kit - Here's To You as possible...

 One of the things that I really liked about this set was that along with the kit supplies, I could use the awesome free gift of the stencils. It allowed me to create some great cards and tags. I actually made cards for each of my boys' teachers, as they are all going back to school (hybrid) next week. They've all been so amazing through what has been such a difficult school year, and I am so grateful for them.

 I actually had to make more cards for male teachers than female, so I was grateful that this kit allowed me to really customize what I needed. I paired the trees and bird stamps from the kit with the beautiful sentiments from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set. This allowed me to make a simple card with a coordinating tag for a bag of goodies!

 I am super excited to see what else the rest of the group has created with this set. I think that we are in for some amazing creativity!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Bouquet of Hope

 Hello! Welcome to this month's A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. This month our talented team (if I do say so myself) has created some great alternate project inspiration for you featuring the beautiful, thoughtful Paper Pumpkin Kit for February, Bouquet of Hope.

 

 Ok, I will admit. I got my kit a little late this month, and I planned on spending yesterday working on some ideas for y'all. Of course things often don't work out that smoothly and I got called in to work. Soooo.... this project actually came together kind of late last night. I still think it turned out nice though. That's one of the things that I love about the Paper Pumpkin kits, they make it easy. I LOVE how this month's coordinated so nicely with our beautiful Flower & Field Sale-A-Bration FREE Designer Series Paper.

 Like I said, I was running way short on time, so I grabbed another card I made recently and took the same layout and BOOM! Card done.

The bouquet stamp in this kit is just lovely, and the set also has some wonderful sentiments. I colored in the stamp using my Just Jade and Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends Markers, which were a perfect pairing with this paper. 

 I changed up my original design a few times and had a few extra pieces, so I put them to work by combining them together for a fun tag! Totally Serendipitous!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Sending Hearts

 Hey friends! Welcome back. I hate how little I've been able to stamp this month, but I'm happy to say that it seems like all of the Covid issues here in house are DONE! We are all more or less back to normal. I have finally been feeling up to getting back in to my office for a little bit each day. Luckily for me, my Paper Pumpkin came at just the right time.

    I love how even though it's a Valentine themed kit, you can easily change it up a bit to suit your needs. I decided to more or less stuck with Valentine's but changed things up with the pieces and layouts.

 For the first card, I cut one of the Petal Pink cards in half so that I could use it as a layer on top of a Basic Black layer on a Crumb Cake card. I added some interest by adding some ink spatters from a Black Stampin' Write Marker and running it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the Subtle Embossing Folder. 

 For my second card, I decided to fussy cut the cute little mailbox out of the layer provided in the kit to make it look more like a die-cut. I also added the "XOXO" cut from a Poppy Parade scrap with the Playful Alphabet dies. Kind of a different look for me I think, but I like it, it's pretty cute.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Beary Comforting

Hi there!!! Welcome back. As we are putting the final days of 2020 behind us, I want to take a moment to each of you for your continued support of my blog and my stamping business!!! Hopefully you are enjoying coming by and being inspired. Today I and a few of my friends are hoping to bring you some inspiration using this month's Paper Pumpkin kit - Beary Comforting.

This month has some seriously adorable images for you, and gives you all the supplies you need to create 12 full sized cards, not to mention this sweet bear image stamp. Today, I used the stamp set to create 2 alternate card ideas for you.

 This first one is kind of simple, but I think it turned out cute.

 This bear is so fun to color. I love the color combo of Petal Pink with Gray Granite. In order to make a slightly darker Gray Granite mat, I just used my Gray Granite Blend to color the edges of a piece of Gray Granite Cardstock.

 When I saw the bear, I knew I had to try to make a panda bear for my kiddo who is obsessed with pandas, and has been his whole life. When I colored it in to try it, I wasn't so sure, so I called him in and he loved it, so I knew it was going on a card. Funny thing is, I totally plan on using it for his upcoming birthday!

 In order to make sure that I didn't cover up all of his details, I used my Watercolor Pencils to add the panda like features. I knew I wanted to make sure it was bright and cheery, so I created a large bouquet of shimmery balloons for him! I know he is going to love it.
