#tgifc336 Color Combo Challenge - Hand Penned Petals

  Hello! Happy Friday! I am so glad that you could come by and join me for this week's TGIF Challenge. Being is that it is the beginning of October, we are kicking off the month with our Color Combo Challenge. I hate to admit it, but this one was truly a challenge.

 It doesn't look like it should have been a hard challenge. Maybe it won't be for you. I probably pulled out 6 different stamp sets before I settled on one to use. Once I did, I knew exactly what I needed to create. I was recently asked to create a wedding card for a couple that sounds like just the neatest people. I hope that they love it, and I made it special enough for them.

 I really tried to add a lot of detail and special touches. The flower image from Hand-Penned Petals was embossed with Black Embossing Powder, then I used Blackberry Bliss Ink to watercolor. It has just a touch of Wink of Stella as well. The die cuts were also treated to some Stella glimmer. There's ribbon, pearls, and rhinestones, all little details to make it special.

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Kicking Off the New Year!

Oh my GOSH!!! Does it feel like forever?!?!? It does to me! DId y'all miss me??? I kind of missed posting and reading all your sweet comments, but I did LOVE spending lots of time with my family. Even if a lot of it was nursing sickies. Did any of you have to deal with sickies over the holidays?

Want to see how I did it?

I took a length of the Flower Trim from the Spring Catalog, and started coloring it with my markers, like this.....

then I got a little scared, because it looked like this.....

and it was really dark, and not that pretty, so I did this....

with a little bot of water, and then in just a moment it looked like this ....

How to make your own Pocket Card Embellishments in MDS

 So after I posted THIS VIDEO the other day, I received a sweet comment asking how exactly I made the Pocket Card download into individual embellishments so that I could use them on my cards, so I recorded a little 4 minute video for you, hoping that it makes sense :) explaining how I went about doing that - Here you go -

 

 

Hope that makes sense. Sometimes it's not too easy explaining the "technical stuff".

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Nothing Says Spring like....

 Hey there! How are ya? Great I hope. I am so excited to be hopping again today. Did you come from Jane's blog? I so love her - she is so talented. I even have some more projects that I will be sharing with you later this week that were completely inspired by her. In fact, the card in the video tutorial I posted yesterday was one of them.

 Ok, back to business, nothing says spring quite like a cheery little birdhouse.

I found the sweet little birdhouse in a dollar bin at the craft store and thought it would look so cheery covered in the FREE Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper. Really a super easy project. Then I just created a VERY simple card in case you want to give it as a gift!

I'd also like to take a quick moment to introduce you to a very special project for me - Camden's Corner.
